    For Tax Preparation Services
  • Dear Client,

    This letter confirms the terms of our agreement for tax preparation services for the tax returns selected on your client intake form with your selected tax return preparer, who has contracted with Tax Plug LLC DBA "Tax Gurus Dearborn" and Tax Gurus Van Buren Twp/Belleville", whose principal location is 22967 W Outer Dr, Dearborn, Michigan 48124. Please review the following terms carefully, and sign below to indicate your acceptance.

    Tax Preparation Services


    Tax Preparer will prepare your selected year Form 1040, U.S. Individual Income Tax Return(s), and applicable state tax return(s) based on information you provide. City tax returns will also be prepared, if required. Services for preparation of your return do not include auditing or verification of information provided by you.

    This engagement does not include any audit or examination of your books or records. In the event your return is audited, you will be responsible for verifying the items reported. Assistance is available for audit handling and response for an additional fee determined by your tax preparer if you not opt in to audit protection services for the return(s) prepared.


    Assisting you with your compliance with the Corporate Transparency Act, including beneficial ownership information reporting, is not within the scope of this engagement.


    The tax return preparation fee does not include bookkeeping. Additional fees apply for these services.


    Fees charged for tax return preparation do not include audit representation or preparing materials to respond to correspondence from taxing authorities.
    Preparation fees do cover limited assistance and consultation during the year.
    The engagement to prepare your tax return(s) terminates upon delivery of your completed returns and original documents to you. Please store your supporting documents and your tax returns in a secure place for at least seven years. You may be assessed a fee if you request a duplicate copy in the future.


    Taxpayer Responsibilities


    You agree to provide us ALL income and deductible expense information. If you receive additional information after we begin working on your return, you will contact us immediately to ensure your completed tax returns contain all relevant information. if you inform us later after the return has been filed that you've received additional documents or are notified from governmental agencies in the future that income documents were left off of your return(s) that you did not provide at the time of filing, fees are applicable to amend your tax return and add these documents.


    You affirm that ALL expenses or other deduction amounts are accurate and that you have ALL required supporting written records to provide in the event you are audited. In some cases, we will ask to review your documentation.


    You must be able to provide written records of all items included on your return if audited by either the IRS or state tax authority. We can provide guidance concerning what evidence is acceptable.


    You must review the returns carefully before signing to make sure the information is correct, including addresses and bank information.


    Fees must be paid before your tax returns are delivered to you or filed for you or you may opt to utilize our provided refund transfer services with pathward bank, N.A. to deduct your tax preparation fees from you tax refund. If you terminate this engagement before completion 9including you signing or the electronic or peper filing of your tax return(s), you agree to pay a fee for work completed. A retainer may be required for preparation of amended tax returns, prior year tax returns, and returns where it is known taxpayer will not have a refund.


    Ackowledgement of Non-Refundable Minimum Fee

    1. The Client acknowledges and agrees that a minimum non-refundable fee of $99.99 will be charged for the Tax Preparer's time, effort, and expertise in preparing Client's tax return in the event that Client chooses not to proceed with filing their return with Tax Preparer, at the Tax Gurus, after preparation has begun, Client fails to review the prepared return, Client fails to sign the return, or the Client fails to complete the filing process, regardless of whether the return is ultimately submitted within 30 days of the start of engagement. This is NOT a tax return estimate, you agree you are hiring me to perform the service of preparing your tax returns and to compensate me for doing so.

    2. The fee for tax preparation services will be priced upon completion of the tax return (varies based on forms on your return) and price relayed to client once file is examined and preparation has begun, which is due upon the completion of the preparation of your tax return(s) or refund transfer process when tax return is funded. You may either pay your tax preparation fee up front, or utilize a bank product to deduct your tax preparation fee and applicable bank fees for the bank product from your refund.

    3. You are responsible for payment of the full tax preparation fee within 90 days from the completion of your tax returns, even if the tax return is not funded for any reason. 

    3. Additional fees may apply for extraordinary circumstances such as expedited services, complex tax issues, postage required or unforeseen changes in the scope of work. These fees will be communicated to Client by Tax Preparer on an as-needed basis.

    Completion and Filing

    1. Upon completion of your tax return(s), Tax Preparer will provide them to you for review. It is your responsibility to review and approve the tax return(s) BEFORE they are filed.

    2. Once approved, Tax Preparer will file the tax return(s) electronically (if eligible) on your behalf, or you may choose to file them manually (paper aka via US Mail) and Tax Preparer will provide you a complete copy of your returns. If you have paper filed returns, you are responsible for the costs of postage and any certified mail options you elect to use.

    Termination of Services

    You may terminate this engagement at any time; however, you will be responsible for payment of services rendered up to the date of termination, including non-refundable minimum fee for services provided.

    Limitation of Liability

    I will prepare your tax return(s) with reasonable care and due diligence. However, Tax Preparer is not responsible for any additional taxes, penalties, or interest that may arise from incorrect or incomplete information provided by you.

    Signatures


    By signing below, you acknowledge that you have read, understand, and accept your obligations and responsibilities and that you understand our responsibilities in preparing your tax returns as explained above.

    Authorization for Payment

    By signing this agreement, the Client authorizes the Tax Preparer to debit $99.99 from the Client's designated bank account provided by taxpayer immediately upon the occurrence of any of the circumstances outlined above. The Client agrees to provide valid payment upon request.

    Legal Compliance

    This agreement in enforceable under Federal and Michigan state law. Both parties agree to act in compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations.

     

    Acknowledgment and Acceptance

    By signing this agreement, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the terms outlined in this engagement letter. The Client further agrees that this letter represents the entire agreement regarding the services provided and the associated fees and agrees to pay for tax preparation services as described above. Your Tax Preparer can choose not to enforce this signed agreement if they agree to offer a free estimate service to you. Please get an understanding with your Tax Preparer on whether you engaged in asking for a free estimate or engaged for tax return preparation. (If only getting an estimate, you should not be seeing and signing this agreement.)

    Privacy Policy


    The nature of our work requires us all to collect certain nonpublic personal information about you from various sources. We collect financial and personal information from applications, worksheets, reporting statements, and other forms, as well as interviews and conversations with our clients and affiliates. We may also review banking and credit card information about our clients in the performance of receipt of payment. Under our policy, all information we obtain about you will be provided by you or obtained with your permission.

    Our firm has procedures and policies in place to protect your confidential information. We restrict access to your confidential information to those within our firm who need to know in order to provide you with services. We will not disclose your personal information to any third party without your express written permission, except where required by law. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards in compliance with federal regulations that protect your personal information from unauthorized access.
