Employee Hand Book: 9.10 Time and Attendance Policy
Lateness & Tardiness
It is an ongoing expectation of all employees to report to work in a punctual manner. Employees are considered late if they do not report to work seven (7) minutes prior to their scheduled start time.
For example:
8:00 AM start time, must arrive by 7:53 AM
2:00 PM start time, must arrive by 1:53 PM
4:00 PM start time, must arrive by 3:53 PM
Arrival after their scheduled start time is considered severely late and subject to progressive disciplinary action.
Progressive Disciplinary Action
First Instance of tardiness: First Written Warning
Second Instance of tardiness: Second Written Warning
Third Instance of tardiness: Third Written Warning
Fourth Instance of tardiness: Fourth Written Warning and/or Termination
Employees are expected to report to work and return from breaks as scheduled. Employees who are late are in violation of this procedure.
Policy Acknowledgement:
By signing below, I acknowledge that I have reviewed Section 9.10 Time and Attendance Policy of the Employee Handbook, which includes the expectations regarding punctuality, tardiness, and related disciplinary actions. I understand that lateness is considered severe if I arrive after the scheduled start time and that it may result in progressive disciplinary actions.
As outlined in our company policies, three or more instances of tardiness, defined as either tardy arrivals or call-outs, within a 90-day period are subject to disciplinary action, including termination.
We understand that unforeseen circumstances may occasionally arise, leading to tardiness. However, it's essential to communicate any challenges or obstacles that may affect your ability to arrive on time.
