Below are a list of conditions that every dump body truck must meet prior to entering the jobsite. If the driver has not conducted, or his/her vehicle is not equipped with, any of these parameters, the driver may NOT enter the worksite. The driver will only be allowed on the jobsite if he/she can mitigate any deficiencies.
Mandatory Daily Safety Brief

In accordance with the Pennsylvania Turnpike's special provision, you are required to follow the James D. Morrissey, Inc.'s Trucking Management Policy. A copy of this policy is available upon request. The following is a summary of the main points as they pertain to you, the driver:.

Safety equipment and inspection:  The series of questions that were asked of you above pertaining to safety equipment and inspections are a requirement and must be conducted daily.

Ingress/Egress:  All ingress and egress to/from the jobsite should occur via local roads when practical. Should ingress or egress be required via other roadways, the driver must prioritize safety to the public and employees while being conscious of their effects on the flow of traffic. A spotter can be made available to assist with safe ingress and egree if requested.

Jobsite conduct:  While on the jobsite, please continually check the body of your truck to ensure that it is lowered. Watch out for overhead hazards and signs indicating the presence of overhead hazards. Adhere to all posted signage and directions provided by other employees. Should any of your safety equipment stop working while at the jobsite, you MUST notify a supervisor immedidately.

Departing the jobsite:  There are signs at the worksite exits reminding you to check the body of your truck. Please visually inspect the body to ensure that it is completely lowered. If you require a washout after paving operations, please use the designated area and ensure that the body of your truck has been completely lowered before leaving the desginated area.
