🌟 What is the Carolinas CKI District Convention? 🌟

The District Convention is the unlimited culminating event—the grand finale and annual gathering for Circle K International members across North and South Carolina. Far more than just a weekend getaway, it's a truly magical time where the spirited Ozians of Carolinas CKI celebrate their triumphs and see their collective dedication changed for the better.

It serves as the premier opportunity for clubs to apply for prestigious awards, showcasing their swankified achievements and demonstrating just how Popular they've become. Attendees can pursue the dream of Defying Gravity by running for a coveted District Office, helping to shape the future of the district. Furthermore, the Convention offers vital educational forums and hands-on service projects, all while providing a chance to reconnect with friends, meet new members, and honor graduating seniors. This is the weekend where the fellowship gathers, unapologetically, to embrace being a little different and to remember that being wicked (in the best way) is simply being ourselves, making everyone truly happy!

🪄 The Guest List: Who Dares to Join Our Ranks? 🪄

This magnificent gathering is unlimited! While the main cast includes all college students across North and South Carolina, we welcome attendees even from Districts outside our Carolinas realm—it's truly an open invitation to the Ozians and beyond. Your favorite Kiwanians, Faculty/Staff Advisors, and other cherished Kiwanis Family members are all invited to join the fun in the Emerald City. There is absolutely no limit to the number of students who can attend from the same school; the more the merrier! However, only those students who are Circle K International dues-paid members from a chartered Carolinas CKI school in good standing (meaning a club has 15+ members or 10+ members for two-year colleges or those with enrollments under 5,000) are permitted the magical right to vote, run for District Office, or submit awards.

    🗓️ One Swankified Weekend 🗓️

Prepare to begin this truly magical convention by stepping into our own Emerald City at the Hilton Charlotte Airport (2800 Coliseum Centre Dr, Charlotte, NC 28217)! The curtain rises for registration anytime between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. on Friday, a window designed to ensure a smooth, unapologetically exciting arrival. The grand spectacle of our weekend continues until the final call to depart, which rings out after 12:00 p.m. departure on Sunday—giving our Ozians plenty of time to say their farewells and become changed for the better. We must note, however, that while we provide the spectacular venue, each student is solely responsible for their own transportation to and from school, so plan your journey to avoid any wicked delays!

  • 🏆 A Celebration Unapologetically Swankified: The Awards of the Emerald City! 🏆

District Convention is the moment we embrace our unlimited potential and celebrate how our service has changed for the better! A major component of this grand weekend is the distribution of awards for clubs, deserving members, and our invaluable Kiwanis Family supporters—proving just how Popular we've become.

The full details and submission links for the online awards can be found on the Carolinas CKI website under the Events and District Convention (DCon) page. Ensure your club's application for every prestigious honor is submitted online by the official deadline to be considered for your moment in the spotlight!

A Green Reminder from the Wickedly Organized:

Beware, dear Ozians: While most awards are submitted ahead of time, a few special honors have in-person deadlines that must be met at the District Convention itself, so pay close attention to all published deadlines!

Most importantly, to ensure your club receives the maximum eligible points and truly Defies Gravity with its score, heed this vital spell: The Club Monthly Reports will be used to verify your achievements! Clubs must submit all eligible reports to validate your service hours and activities. Any missing reports will unfortunately cause your club to receive a smaller percentage of award points, and we wouldn't want to see your hard work vanish like a little bit of magic smoke!

This path offers the chance to lead our fellowship, implement unlimited vision, and be a force for change that is unapologetically positive and changed for the better.

If you wish to serve in a supporting role, the positions of Committee Chair are another essential way to contribute. However, these positions are not elected by the House of Delegates; candidates are typically recommended by the incoming Governor and then voted on by the new District Board.
