Learn Together is a program for the youngest children in our community (ages 12 months - 23 months as of September 1, 2025) and their parents or caregivers.
In our Learn Together class, we explore the elements of a constructivist early-childhood environment in which children are encouraged to explore materials freely and make choices through play. We highlight, celebrate, and encourage the way in which young children are making meaning of their world and their experiences as they explore invitations and provocations to play, offering the class as an opportunity to better understand the philosophy that guides learning through our entire program.
Parents or caregivers attend with children, and the experience is designed equally for adults as it is for children. Our intention with this program is for adults to build connections within the DCP community and learn more about their child's development and how an emergent curriculum takes shape in the classroom. The role of the early childhood educator in the program is to model language, facilitate play experiences, collaborate with parents and caregivers to share knowledge about children's development, and facilitate conversation and community connections in the class.
