Certified Native Plant Master

To become a Certified Native Plant Master, you must:
1. Complete three Native Plant Master courses held in three different life zones or held at different times of the year in this or future years;
2. Pass field exams with a grade of “C” or better;
Certification is awarded in December.

Introduction Course

Introduction Course

The Introduction to Using a Botanical Key class is available to all Native Plant Master Participants. The course is REQUIRED for those who have minimal or no background in botany. However, all participants are welcome to participate, including those who would like to refresh their botanical knowledge. The course will be offered online this year through CSU Extension and must be completed before the students offical course starts. More information about the course will be sent to those who register.

You must obtain the 2nd edition of Flora of Colorado, by Jennifer Ackerfield for the Native Plant Master Course, if you cannot afford the book, you can rent this book from the Larimer County Extension Office.
Cost: $25 fee & $50 refundable deposit

The book is NOT required for the Special Native Plant Master Courses.
