  • NMARB and Youth Arts Ambassadors' Council Project 2025-2026/Ages 8-12

    Youth Arts Ambassadors will advocate for youth appreciation and youth participation in the arts and cultural learning across our community. Our 2025-26 school year is designed for students aged 8-12 and will focus on storytelling through creative writing, visual arts, and music. Youth Arts’ Ambassadors ages 8-12 will meet weekly on Monday afternoons from 3:30-5 pm at the acclaimed FUSION Theater located at 708 1st Street. Program Directors: Ana Romero-Sanchez BA: Community Organizer/Educator and Founder of the New Mexico Academy of Rock and Blues, as well as New Mexico Youth Arts Ambassadors. Keith Sanchez MA: Community Organizer/Educator, Co-Founder of NMARB/NMYAA, UNM PhD student in Chicana/Chicano Studies, UNM Instructor, New Mexico History Teacher South Valley Academy. PROGRAM BEGINS October , 2025. THIS PROGRAM IS FREE, thanks to funding and support from OneAlbuquerque. Donations are always appreciated, allowing us to create a more dynamic program of mentors and experiences. Donations can be made at https://form.jotform.com/51938308098970 and are tax-deductible. This is a drop-off program. Parents wishing to stay on campus can access an on-site coffee shop. Student mentor: Aspen Montoya-Keith. Aspen is a Cuentista in our teen program and is currently a senior in high school, attending CNM as a dual-credit homeschool student. A published poet and talented fine artist, Aspen is a source of inspiration for our young learners.

  • RELEASE OF LIABILITY. PLEASE READ BEFORE SIGNING.

    This agreement releases The New Mexico Academy of Rock and Blues and The New Mexico Youth Arts Ambassador programs from all liability relating to injuries, and/or illness that may occur on site and/or during our workshops and events. By signing this agreement, I agree to hold NMARB/NMYAA entirely free of all liability including finanical responsibility for injuries and illness. I also acknowledge the risks involved in the activity, including and not limited to possible exposure to community spread illness. Additionally, I attest that my child does not have any conditions that may increase his/her likelihood of experiencing injuries or illnes while engaging in these activities. By signing below, I attest that my child will be kept home if any of the following signs are present:

    Body Temperature above 100.4

    Nausua/Vomiting/Diarrhea 

    Sore Throat/Cough

    Headache/Body aches do to illness

    If you child shows any symtoms of illness, please keep them home and do not send them to workshop until they are well. They must be fever free for 24 hours before returning.
