    Vaccination Requirements

For your pet's safety and that of our staff, we require up-to-date vaccination records (Dogs: Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella; Cats: Rabies and FVRCP) before any grooming services are rendered.

    Use of Restraints

Our groomers may use safe, humane restraints—including muzzles, elastic collars, slings, and straps—when necessary to ensure a secure grooming environment. Please inform us if your pet has a history of biting or aggression.

    Grooming Process and Risk

We strive to maintain a calm grooming experience; however, sudden movements can result in accidental injuries (such as minor nicks). To reduce distractions, owners should not interact with their pets during grooming.
For safety, we may end a grooming session early if a pet becomes stressed or uncooperative. The full grooming fee still applies.

    All-Inclusive Grooming Services

Our grooming packages are all-inclusive. If a pet’s behavior, stress level, or health concerns prevent our groomer from completing any component of the service (including nail trimming, ear cleaning, or sanitary trimming), no discounts or price reductions will be given. Your pet’s safety always takes priority.

Potty Breaks and Extra Bathing Fees

Please make sure your dog has had a potty break immediately before their appointment.
If a pet urinates or defecates after the initial bath and requires an additional bath, a supplemental bathing fee may be charged to cover the extra time, products, and sanitation required.

    Client Liability

Clients are responsible for their pet’s behavior and health conditions. Onalaska Animal Hospital and its groomers are not liable for injuries, complications, or claims resulting from pre-existing medical or behavioral issues.

    Health and Allergy Disclosure

Please notify staff of any allergies, sensitivities, medical conditions, or prior negative grooming experiences. This information helps us tailor the grooming process to your pet’s specific needs.

    Sensitive or Stress-Inducing Procedures

If a procedure such as nail trimming or ear cleaning causes significant stress or poses safety concerns, we will discontinue the task and may recommend veterinary assistance.

    Emergency Authorization

In the event of an emergency, you authorize our groomer and/or veterinarian to provide necessary medical treatment. All services rendered in such situations are at the client’s expense.

    Flea Treatment

Pets found with fleas will receive a mandatory flea bath at an additional charge to protect the cleanliness of our grooming environment. We use gentle and hypoallergenic products whenever possible.

    Matted Coats

    De-matting services incur additional fees.
Severely matted coats may require shaving to prevent pain, injury, or stress. Shaving may reveal hidden skin issues or irritation for which we are not responsible. We will not perform de-matting procedures that cause undue discomfort to the pet.

    Custom Cuts

Requests for custom or non–breed-standard cuts will be completed to the best of our professional interpretation and ability. While we strive for accuracy, no guarantees are made regarding results.

    Scheduling

Typical grooming appointments take 2–3 hours, but timing may vary based on coat condition, the pet’s behavior, and grooming needs.

    Cancellation & No-Show Policy

At least 24 business hours’ notice is required for cancellations.
Missed appointments or cancellations with insufficient notice result in a fee equal to 50% of the grooming cost, due before the next grooming or veterinary service.
Three no-shows may result in refusal of future grooming services.

    Late Arrival Policy

Arrivals more than 30 minutes late may be considered a no-show.
Late arrivals may experience delays, abbreviated services, or rescheduling, and applicable no-show fees may apply.

    Payments & Returned Checks

Payment is due at the time of service.
Returned checks carry a $50 fee, payable before future services.
We accept Cash, Debit, Visa, Mastercard, and Discover.

    Professional Discretion

Our groomers reserve the right to modify or cease grooming if a pet exhibits significant stress, fear, or aggression. We may refuse service at any time if deemed necessary for staff or pet safety.

    Elderly & Medically Fragile Pets

Senior pets or pets with health limitations may experience stress during grooming. We take extra precautions, but clients assume responsibility for any age-related complications. Grooming may be adjusted or stopped if it poses a risk to the pet’s well-being.
