APDF Intensive: Application for Full Sponsorship

For the 2025 Asia Pacific Dance Festival Intensive (May 19-June 1), we are excited to be able to offer free registration for 10 participants, thanks to generous support from SAPFB. All UHM students are welcome to apply, regardless of major or dance experience.

The registration fee covers all activities included in the APDF Intensive. Room and board are not included, but we can assist in finding accomodation if needed. At the Intensive, participants will:
- Learn from respected artists from Hawaiʻi, Fiji, and India
- Experience a holistic approach to cultural learning through movement, including historical and social contexts, language, films, and food
- Engage in community classes
- Go on field trips exploring cultural connections
- Join Talk Story Sessions (conversations with community members, APDF alumni, and resident artists)
- Participate in the Welcoming Ceremony
- Receive tickets to concerts: The Art of Hula, Local Motion!, ‘Ike Hana I, and ‘Ike Hana II
- Attend the Asia Pacific Dance Festival Conference on May 30, 31, and June 1
- Earn a Certificate of Completion

As a part of your application, please get one recommender to fill out the above form. Your recommender can be a teacher, supervisor, or anyone else you think can best assess your abilities. Part A should be completed by the applicant, and then sent to the recommender, who will fill out Part B.

Your recommender should email the completed form to apdf@hawaii.edu by March 14th at 5pm HST to complete your application. If we do not receive a recommendation form for you, your application will be considered incomplete.
