Player Code of Conduct:
1. The game of hockey should be fun. If it is not fun and you do not love the game, then you should not play.
2. If you want opponents to respect you, you must respect them.
3. Team effort is more important than individual stardom. The team is more successful when everyone works to achieve a common goal.
4. Respect the decision made by the official and refrain from verbal criticism or gestures that imply the same.
5. Attendance at all practices, games and all other activities done by the club, must be supported by members to enable the club to be successful.
6. Coaches will outline expectations of you before the start of the season. Failure to meet rules/expectations may result in consequences being imposed.
7. You are expected to conduct yourself in a respectful manner. Destructive or delinquent behaviour during or after the game or practice will result in a disciplinary hearing.
8. As agreed at the AGM on 24 OCTOBER 2024 annual subcriptions will be paid as follows
Employed - R500 p.p
Unemployed - R200 p.p
Student - R100 p.p
Dates of payment - 28 FEBRUARY 2025 (FULL PAYMENT)
9. No player will be allowed to take part in a SOCIAL or LEAGUE game & tournament on behalf of LHC if the player has not paid any of his/her Subscription or has met with the Committee (before due date of payments) to discuss.
Player Disciplinary Code:
A. Positive attitudes from all players, sportsmanship, respect for yourself and others, respect for organisation and skill development of yourself is your responsibility. You must be able to react to success as well as failure. A list of team rules follows that will help you achieve our collective team goals as well as a list of consequences for breaking the rules.
B. Player/Team Rules are below
1. No derogatory remarks towards players, coaches, spectators or officials.
2. Pay attention to coaches & react quickly to instructions without complaint.
3. No “cheap shots” or deliberately trying to injure another player on or off the field.
4. Respect your equipment, the equipment of others and the facility you are playing at.
5. Inform your coach ASAP if you cannot make a practice or game.
6. Work equally hard for yourself and the team.
7. Fighting or stealing is a very serious offence. This will result in suspension and a hearing.
8. Playing under the influence of alcohol is forbidden.
9. Nobody is above the club, refusing to play at a lower level e.g being dropped from a team and you choose not to play.
10. Recieving a Red card in a game is for the players financial obligation and not the club.
C. Rule violation will result in the following consequences per player per season.
1. First offense – one game suspension.
2. Second offense – One game Suspension & Fine.
3. Third offense - Disciplinary hearing By Chairman & committee.
