  • Thank you for your interest in nominating someone for the FPM President's Medal. Please read the notes below before completing this form.

     

    Who can nominate?
    All FPM members are eligible to nominate (Affiliates, Associates, Members, Fellows and Honorary positions).


    Who can be nominated?
    The award is open to all members and non-members of FPM in recognition of a significant contribution to pharmaceutical medicine, which can be over a long period of time or for a sustained and intensive short period. Nominees do not need to be medically qualified. The award is typically made to an individual, however nominations for a team will also be considered.

    Please note that nominees will NOT be informed of their nomination by FPM. The winner will be informed no later than 22 May 2025.

     
    How are the winner's chosen?
    The Fellowship and Awards Committee will review all nominations on a case-by-case basis. Only the information submitted by on this form will be considered. 

    The committee will judge each nomination on its individual merit, without reference to any specific criteria, with the final decision agreed by a vote. The nominated awardee will be presented to the Board for final approval.

     
    What do the winners receive?
    The winners receive a medal and are invited to our Annual Awards Ceremony for formal commendation of their achievements amongst their peers.

    The medal is awarded on a one-time basis and does not carry any other privileges, however, The President’s Medal provides recognition within the wider pharmaceutical medical community for an individual’s valuable contribution to the field.

     

    How to nominate
    Nominations should include:

    • your name,
    • a seconder to support your nomination,
    • the name of the nominated individual,
    • and a supporting statement of 300-1000 words that details of the nominee’s contributions to pharmaceutical medicine.

     

    FPM Annual Awards Ceremony
    If your nominee is awarded the President's Medal, both you and the nominee will be invited to attend our Annual Awards Ceremony on Wednesday 2 July 2025 at the Merchant Taylors’ Hall, London.

    As proposer, you will asked to deliver a short citation for them. If you are not able to attend the ceremony, the person supporting this nomination may present the citation on your behalf.

  • The FPM President's Medal is the highest award that FPM bestows. This award recognises exceptional individuals who have gone above and beyond to deliver fundamental and transformational change to the field of pharmaceutical medicine.

    The nature of contribution which qualifies has been kept deliberately broad, but it must be a contribution that has advanced the practice of pharmaceutical medicine.

    The award is open to members and non-members of FPM. Nominees do not need to be medically qualified. The award is typically made to an individual, however nominations for a team will also be considered.

    The Fellowship and Awards Committee review all nominations on a case-by-case basis. Only the information submitted below will be considered. Therefore, please think carefully about you statement in support of nomination. Please note there is a minimum word count of 300 words.

  • Support for your nomination

    Your nomination must have the support of another FPM member.
  • Consent for FPM announcements

  • Should your nomination be successful, we would like to use your supporting statement and name in the announcement of the award. This may include our webpages and LinkedIn & Twitter accounts, as well as emails to members.

  • The Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine (FPM) processes the information provided in connection with your nomination following the principles of the Data Protection Act 2018. The information you provide in this nomination will be shared with members of FPM's Fellowship and Awards Committee. Any other sharing of information will only take place with your consent or if FPM has a lawful basis to do so.

    You will receive a pdf copy of this nomination by email when you submit it.

    You must:

    1 - Send the copy of your nomination to your supporter, they need to see it before they can confirm thier support for your nomination. 

    2 - Ask your supporter to complete the Support for a President's Medal Nomination form.

    Nominations will be reviewed by the Trustees and the Fellowship and Awards Committee in May 2025. 

    If your nomination is successful we will inform you, your seconder and your nominee by email no later than 22 May 2025.
