Position Objective
The Risk and Compliance Manager reports to CFO and will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of risk and compliance within the organization. The primary objective of this role is to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, mitigate risks, and provide strategic guidance to senior management on compliance-related matters.
Position Responsibilities:
- Prepare minutes and provide secretariat support and logistical arrangements for Board/Committee meetings.
- Stay updated on legislative and regulatory changes, assess their impact on business operations, and formulate internal policies to ensure compliance.
- Review and advise on agreements and contracts from other teams.
- Take on ad-hoc projects assigned by senior management and provide advice on business-related issues and solutions
- Conduct compliance monitoring reviews/internal audit checks regularly to identify hidden risks or non-conformity issues, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures to achieve good corporate governance and adhere to the Save the Children Accountability Framework, as well as providing advice or training
- Carry out the responsibilities of the role in a way that reflects Save the Children’s commitment to safeguarding children in accordance with the Child Safeguarding Policy.
Qualifications and Experience
- University graduate / professional qualification, preferably in business, banking, accounting, law, finance or related disciplines
- At least 5 years' experience in managerial and compliance/risk management.
- Proper training or relevant experience as a Committee Secretary is preferred.
- An excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese, experience in compiling reports, publications, compliance policies, and procedures.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and independent personality with tactful communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent common sense and pragmatism with a proven track record in handling sensitive and confidential information.
- A team player with good interpersonal skills and comfortable in cross-team collaboration.
