  • Rules and Guidelines:

    I.                    The Contest is divided into 2 categories:

    1. Adult – 18 and older

    2. Youth- 13 through 17

     

    II.                One entry per category per person is permitted.

           1. Quick Breads (biscuits, rolls, muffins)

           2. Entrees (casseroles, salads, soups, main dishes)

           3. Desserts

    III.            Entries:

    1.      Deadline to enter is May 11th, 2025. 

    2.      All entries of recipes will be become the property of the Bailey Chamber of Commerce’s Sweet Potato All prepared entries will be dropped off on Saturday, May 18st from 9:30 am to 10:45 at the Bailey Chamber of Commerce office.  There will be a drive thru drop off located in the alley behind the office. 

    3.      All recipe entries must be submitted typed, no handwritten recipe will be accepted and will disqualify your entry.  Recipe MUST include ingredients with measurements in order used, size of baking dish, instructions on how to make, and number of servings per recipe.

    Name of entrant MUST NOT be on recipe submission.  You will be assigned a number for your entry. 

    4. Closed Judging session will take place from 11:00 a.m. -12:00 noon.  Winners will be announced at 1 pm at the stage on Main Street.

     

    Judging will be based on the following:

    creativity- 35%, taste -45%, presentation  10% and Preparation/cooking time-10%

     

    5.  Entries will be served to the public at the conclusion of judging.  Please use disposable containers for all entries.   WE WILL NOT BE RESPOSIBLE FOR THE CONTAINERS.

    IV.               Prizes for Adult and Youth Categories

     First Place –$25.00

     Second Place- $15.00

     Third Place- $10.00

    **must have at least 5 entries in each category for each age group to award all prizes

     

    Best of Show     $ 100.00

    This will be awarded to the best overall winning recipe from both groups.
