Regional Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice and Five-Year Consolidated Plan
Wake County, the City of Raleigh, Town of Cary, Raleigh Housing Authority and the Housing Authority of Wake County, are reviewing fair housing issues and developing a regional Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice (AI for short). This planning process involves a review of each jurisdiction’s housing and housing-related programs and policies to ensure they are implemented free from discrimination and barriers. This means these jurisdictions want to ensure that they each manage their housing programs, policies, and laws regardless of race, natural hair or hairstyles, ethnicity, creed, color, sex, pregnancy, marital or familial status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin or ancestry, marital or familial status, National Guard or veteran status, religious belief or non-belief, age or disability. In addition, Cary, Raleigh, and Wake County are preparing their five-year Consolidated Plans. The Consolidated Plans will identify the affordable housing and community development needs and priorities for the next five years in the Town of Cary and, separately, in the City of Raleigh. A key component of these initiatives is to collect input from residents, businessowners, stakeholders and community leaders on fair housing, affordable housing, economic development, and community development needs. Please take this10-minute survey and provide your input. Your responses are important. Please complete the survey by February 15, 2025. All responses are anonymous.
