Alberta Kinesiology Association Practical Hours Log
All professional kinesiologist candidates must provide proof of completing a minimum of 300 practical hours in kinesiology or a related field. This “experience” is defined as: co-op, work, volunteer, research, assessment, or treatment to aid in the enhancement of human performance and to assist in the prevention or rehabilitation of injury and other health conditions.

Please note:

100 hours may be Indirect Interaction Hours.

200 hours must be Direct Interaction Hours.

150 of the Direct Interaction Hours must be with symptomatic population types.

All five population types must be different.

-Adults

-Seniors

-Children

-Athletes

For example: If you claim one of your populations as Adults and another as Athletes, you can claim 25 hours with Adults and 25 hours with Athletes.

If you are choosing to claim Indirect Interaction Hours (optional), you may describe them here. All Professional Kinesiologist candidates are able, but not required, to utilize up to 100 practical hours from time spent in practical courses, conducting or supporting research, or shadowing a Kinesiologist or related discipline (ex. Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, etc.). Any research involvement as part of a course curriculum lab or peer-testing may count towards this requirement.
