Volunteer Agreement
This agreement releases PrepareHER Now, a nonprofit corporation organized and existing under the laws of the State of Mississippi, including its directors, officers, and agents, from liability under the terms outlined below.
By signing this agreement, the volunteer or contractor agrees to provide services for PrepareHER Now and engage in activities related to their assigned role.
Volunteers understand that their role is unpaid, and no compensation or employment benefits will be provided. Volunteers are responsible for their own insurance coverage in the event of personal injury or illness resulting from their services.
Contractors understand that their relationship with PrepareHER Now is limited to their agreed-upon position, duties, and compensation (if applicable). Contractors are responsible for their own insurance coverage in the event of personal injury or illness resulting from their services.
(1) I, the volunteer/vendor/contractor, release and hold harmless PrepareHER Now from any and all liability, claims, or demands arising from the services I provide. This waiver includes, but is not limited to, bodily injury, illness, death, or property damage occurring during my volunteer or contractual service.
(2) I acknowledge that PrepareHER Now does not provide financial assistance, health, or disability benefits. I am responsible for my own medical care in case of injury or illness.
(3) Medical Treatment: I release PrepareHER Now from any claims related to first-aid treatment or medical services provided during an emergency while volunteering or working with the organization.
(4) Assumption and Risk: I understand that volunteering or contracting with PrepareHER Now may involve potentially hazardous activities, including but not limited to:
- Physical labor, such as bending and heavy lifting
- Participation in self-defense or safety training programs
- Other activities that may pose a risk of injury
- I expressly assume these risks and release PrepareHER Now from any liability.
(5) Photographic Release: I grant PrepareHER Now the right to use photographs, images, video, or audio recordings of me for promotional, educational, or organizational purposes without compensation.
(6) Dress Code and Professionalism: As a representative of PrepareHER Now:
- Volunteers must maintain a clean, neat, and professional appearance at all times.
- PrepareHER Now T-shirts are encouraged for volunteers and mandatory for paid contractors while on-site or participating in official events.
- Professional behavior is required. Foul language, disruptive behavior, or unprofessional conduct will not be tolerated.
- Volunteers interacting with the public must provide excellent customer service.
(7) As a volunteer, vendor, or contractor, I expressly agree that this Waiver and Release is intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted by the laws of the State of Mississippi and any other state in which PrepareHER Now operates. This agreement shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of these states. If any clause or provision of this Waiver and Release is deemed invalid or unenforceable, the remainder of the agreement shall remain in full force and effect.
(8) I have never been arrested, charged, or convicted of any offense involving a minor, and I attest to this by signing my name on this document.
(9) Background Check Disclosure and Authorization: All applicants, volunteers, vendors, and contractors must undergo a background check as part of the selection process.
- A Disclosure and Authorization Form must be completed to allow PrepareHER Now’s approved background screening provider to conduct this check.
- After one year, a new background check (rescreen) will be required, and a new authorization form must be completed.
By signing below, I acknowledge that I have read, understand, and accept these terms as a volunteer, vendor, or contractor for PrepareHER Now.
