Jackson State University Chicago Alumni Chapter 2025 Scholarship
The members of the Jackson State University National Alumni Association-Chicago Chapter are delighted that you are interested in attending or continuing your education at our alma mater. Each year we award deserving students from the Chicagoland area scholarships to assist in their pursuit of higher education.

Please read the requirements below and complete the scholarship application to be considered for the JSUCAC Fall 2025 Freshman and Returning Student scholarship. All Freshman applicants will be required to participate in a video or telephone interview with members of the scholarship committee before awards are determined. THE APPLICATION DEADLINE: May 15, 2025

THIS APPLICATION WILL NEED TO BE COMPLETED IN ONE SESSION. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SAVE WORK TO COMPLETE LATER. BEFORE YOU START, PLEASE HAVE ALL THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS READY TO COMPLETE THE APPLICATION.

Freshman applicants must submit the following for consideration:
- A complete application with answers to applicant essay questions.
- High school transcript indicating a GPA of 2.5 or higher. (Please do not send screenshots)
- One letter of recommendation from a school counselor, instructor, academic advisor, or employer.
Returning applicants (students who received funds Fall 2024) who are interested in renewing their scholarship must complete the following for consideration:
- A complete application.
- College transcripts indicating a GPA of 3.0 or higher. (Please do not send screenshots)
Current JSU students who are first time applicants must complete the following for consideration:
- A complete application with answers to applicant essay questions.
- College transcripts indicating a GPA of 3.0 or higher. (Please do not send screenshots)

I understand that this application and all supporting documents must be received by the deadline indicated to be considered for a scholarship. Consideration for this award is for Fall 2025.

I understand that if invited to interview with the scholarship committee I must confirm the interview time/date within 48 hours and I must arrive at my scheduled time. Failure to participate in the interview process may result in disqualification of my scholarship application.

I understand that receipt of a scholarship will be determined by the scholarship committee. Award decisions will be based on a combination of grade point average, college entrance test scores (if applicable), financial need, recommendations, and personal interview (if applicable). The scholarship committee reserves the right to augment this process as necessary.

I understand that parents of applicants, who are JSU alumni, must be financially active both locally and nationally.

I agree that if I choose to accept a scholarship the JSUNAA-Chicago Alumni may use my name, my photograph or likeness, the name of my community, and the amount of the award in press releases, public announcements, and other fundraising or promotional materials in all media, to advance the nonprofit objectives of the JSUNAA-Chicago Alumni Chapter.

I agree to the terms set by the Chicago Chapter of the Jackson State University National Alumni Association for this award. I also agree to assist the chapter in recruitment efforts through volunteering time to the association as needed.
