At Centuries of Excellence, students exhibit their gifts and talents, polish their stage presence, and share important Heroes and topics in African African-American history. The occasion is part talent show, part art show, and 100% inspirational.
Do you have a child who would like to participate by reciting an oratory piece, performing a song, dance, or instrumental piece, creating fine art or sculpture to be exhibited, or submitting a research project? Register Below!
Important Notes-
Theme: Becoming Titans
This theme focuses on the groundbreaking journeys of African American entrepreneurs who forged new paths in business, often defying social and economic limitations. It highlights the pioneers who built enterprises that uplifted communities, transformed industries, and paved the way for future innovators. The exhibition encourages students to reflect on the impact of vision, courage, and determination in creating lasting change.
- This year we are highlighting notable African American Marylanders. Use THIS LIST or find your own Marylander to profile (Must be appropriate for a young audience).
- Student(s) may perform as an individual or group. (90 seconds maximum/strictly enforced)
- Student(s) may submit art, sculpture, or a project board for display.
- Students can both perform AND submit art for the art show. OR, participate in one aspect of the event (performing or the art show).
- Dress Rehearsal March 11, 20254 | 4:00-6:00 pm
- If your children are working as a group, please submit their names on ONE registration form.
- For separate performances, please submit one registration form per child.
