Please thoroughly read the following policies and indicate your understanding and agreement to each one. We know that not all of these policies apply to every area of volunteer service; however, we believe it is important for all volunteers to know Finally Home’s values.

Adult/Minor Policy
- A minimum of three people shall be present at all times when a child is in the room. This minimum must be met by either of the following: one adult/two minors or two adults/one minor. Ideally, when using two adults, they will be from different families.
- There should be no spanking or any physical contact with private parts of any child. Discipline MUST follow the redirection guidelines outlined in Finally Home's volunteer training.
- No child over the age of three should be held on a volunteer's lap.
- Your team leader should be notified of any accident, illness, injury, physical distress or emotional problem expressed by any child or youth in your area.
- Do not set a child outside the room by himself for disciplinary action or at any time leave a child alone without supervision.
- It is our intent to follow State regulations in the reporting of child abuse. If you suspect a child is being physically abused, sexually abused, or harmfully neglected, please immediately report your concern to your Finally Home team leader. DO NOT discuss with the parent or guardian. In addition, if the State requires volunteers to report incidents personally, Finally Home will assist you in contacting the appropriate agency.
- Any suspected or alleged child abuse (physical, sexual, or neglect or otherwise) by volunteers will result in temporary removal pending the outcome of an investigation.

I acknowledge that I am required to pass a background check, complete Finally Home’s online volunteer training course, and attend Finally Home’s in-person volunteer orientation before serving as a volunteer in any capacity.

Confidentiality Policy

Respecting the privacy of our participants, donors, volunteers, contractors, and of Finally Home itself is a basic value of our organization.

“Confidential” means that you are free to talk about Finally Home and your volunteer work, but you are not permitted to disclose participants’ names or talk about them in ways that will make their identity known. You should also ensure that unauthorized individuals do not overhear any discussion of confidential information and that documents or reports containing confidential information are not left in the open or inadvertently shared.

It is the policy of Finally Home that information described above must be kept confidential both during and after volunteer service for the protection of our participants and their families.

You should inform your volunteer supervisor immediately if you believe any violation (unintentional or otherwise) of this policy has occurred. Violation of this policy will lead to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of your volunteer service with Finally Home.

Agreement and Release of Liability

I will adhere to all Finally Home policies and procedures that pertain to my volunteer work. The information contained in this application is correct to the best of my knowledge.

Finally Home will contact my references and appropriate government agencies as deemed necessary in order to verify my suitability in working with minors. I understand that the personal information in this application will be held confidential by the professional Finally Home team.

I hereby release and hold Finally Home harmless against all claims, liabilities, and expenses related to my volunteer work.

Photo Release

I authorize Finally Home to photograph and/or record my participation and/or attendance at events/activities and to use, publish, or post such media, whether through exhibition, distribution, reproduction, or otherwise, that may include my likeness, image, voice, appearance, and/or performance. I consent to the unrestricted and unlimited use, by Finally Home and those acting with its permission and authority, of any and all media taken, in whole or in part, for all purposes in any form or medium. I understand that Finally Home shall hold and own all right, title, and interest in such media; may edit such media as it wishes; and may transfer or share any of its rights hereunder. I waive all rights under privacy, publicity, defamation, libel, and proprietary rights relating to such media. Further, I relinquish all rights, titles and interest I may have in the finished media, negative(s), and reproduction to Finally Home and/or any person, entity, or publication to which it transfers or shares the media.

The foundational purpose for Finally Home is grounded in our faith. While we welcome you wherever you are on your spiritual journey, please acknowledge your understanding that Finally Home is a faith-based organization that believes in the teachings of Jesus and His apostles and that the canon of Scripture is God-breathed. Our faith is demonstrated through the way we serve and love, and we serve families of all faith backgrounds.
