Ritchie County Fair & Expo 2025 Jr Miss and Queen Contest Entry Form

The Ritchie County Fair & Expo Jr Miss and Queen Pageants will be held Saturday, June 7th, 2025 at 6:00pm at the Ritchie County 4-H Grounds main building located in Harrisville, WV. 

**If you are crowned, you are required to be available for The Ritchie County Fair & Expo Thursday, July 31st to Saturday, August 2nd. Additionally, you are required to participate in the fair parade to be held Saturday, July 19th.

A mandatory rehearsal will be held Friday, June 6th 2025 at 6:00pm. The rehearsal will allow for introductions, review rules/expectations, and release the next day schedule.

Contestant must be a resident of Ritchie County, WV.

Phases of Competition:

Personal Interview: Jr Miss and Queen contestants are recommended to wear a clean, stylish, and professional outfit. This should be a job interview appropriate outfit. 

Jr Miss: 3 minutes

Queen: 5 minutes

On Stage Introductions: Casual Wear - Jeans and T-shirt with clean close toe shoe. T-shirt is provided by the pageant and distributed at Friday evening rehearsal.

Fun Fashion: Attire should be creative and exciting to showcase Contestants personality. In this phase, contestants often wear vibrant, eye-catching outfits that can range from stylish cocktail dresses to jumpsuits. Contestant Bio recited while contestant models outfit.

Evening Gown: Formal attire, floor length gowns or formal jumpsuit. Each Jr Miss contestant will be asked 2 questions from their bio. Each Queen contestant will be asked 2 questions from their bio and 1 fishbowl question. Example questions will be provided at rehearsal.

Each contestant will be allowed ONE person to assist them throughout the day in the dressing room. This individual will get into the pageant for free. The assistant MUST be female.

Any additional guests of the contestant will NOT be permitted to enter the building until doors open to the public. No other guest of the contestant will be permitted in the dressing room at any time during the pageant day; before, during, or after the pageant completion.

Release and Waiver by Parent or Guardian

We will publish winners on our website, social media pages, newspapers, and may include photographs of individuals and groups. Names of individuals may be used to identify these people in photographs. Individuals with Internet access around the world will be able to view this information. We will publish photographs and names only with your written permission. My signature indicates that I grant permission for the name and/or photograph of the above contestant to be published on the World Wide Web.

Release and Waive of Liability

It is my wish to participate in the Ritchie County Fair & Expo Pageant to be held on June 7th, 2025 at Ritchie County 4-H Grounds. I understand, appreciate, and acknowledge that property damage and injuries are common to such events. I fully assume the risk of such property damage and injuries, and I participate in this voluntarily and with my full knowledge of inherent risks.

I hereby wavie and release any and all rights that either my heirs, successors and assigns or I may have against the Ritchie County 4-H Grounds, its Commissioners, their agents, servants, and/or employees, arising from my participation in this event, including but not limited to property damage and injuries. I further agree to indemnify and hold harmless all of the foregoing from any claim which may be made by me or on behalf by other third parties which might be made against me by others, arising from my participation in the foregoing event.

This waiver shall remain valid and may not be rescinded by the participant. This form is to be signed by participant or if participant is less than 18 years of age to be signed by the parent or legally responsible guardian.

In addition to the release and waiver of liability, signing this form acknowledges that you have read and fully understand the pageant rules. Any contestant and/or family member or guest showing less than sportsman-like behavior, drama, and/or bullying will disqualify and remove the contestant from the Pageant. No refund will be given under these circumstances.

Jr Miss Contestant Entry Fee - $75

Queen Contestant Entry Fee - $100

Entry fee can be mailed to Mackenzie Hyde, dropped off at the Ritchie County Extension Services Office, or submitted via PayPal.

If fee is not collected before 05/17/2025, contestant will not be permitted to participate. There will be no refunds unless you win a WVAFF Queen title before the pageant.
