When: May 3, 2025 (Race Start Time: 6:00 AM, approximate race-time 8-10 hours)
What: An exciting opportunity to join the Wildhorse Traverse ultra-marathon as a participant in the Trailrider, racing alongside a team of 7 other athletes. The Trailrider is an all-terrain wheelchair that enables individuals with mobility challenges to experience the thrill of wilderness trails. This unique opportunity combines the physical endurance of an ultra-marathon with the camaraderie of a team, offering a rewarding experience for both the rider and the entire group.
Participating in this race requires teamwork, preparation, and adaptability. It’s an incredible way to be part of something bigger, while embracing the challenges of the Wildhorse Traverse!
Who: An individual living with a disability, within the Okanagan region of BC.
Why: To promote inclusion and challenge perceptions of what’s possible for individuals living with a disability.
This experience is funded by the West Kelowna Firefighters Charitable Society, in partnership with CRIS Adaptive’s Accessible Wilderness Expeditions program.
