Non-affiliated users of the Indian Ocean Marine Research Centre (IOMRC) facilities incur a venue hire fee. This fee (shown below) applies to cover the costs of maintaining and operating the facilities and ensures equitable access for all users. Alcohol on Campus

If your event features alcohol, a UWA liquor permit request must be submitted at least 21 days in advance of your event. Please see the UWA Alcohol on Campus section of the UWA website for latest instructions.

1.There is a 2 hour minimum booking for external users
2.All room bookings will be confirmed by email
3.IOMRC Building Partners/Occupants have first priority for use of building facilities and/or parking requirements. If your booking will be impacted, we will endeavour to give as much notice as possible.
43.The Auditorium is equipped with AV equipment. Equipment testing in advance of your event is necessary- assistance from the UWA AV department is only available when booked in advance.
5.Please ensure you plan set up and pack away into your booking time as there may be an event directly following your allocated booking. It is a mandatory requirement the space MUST be returned to its original set up upon completion of booking i.e. chairs to be placed in original position, paperwork and refreshment items to be removed, tables to be wiped down, shelving in refrigerator to be replaced, USBs removed, computer in Auditorium shut down etc.
6.A liquor permit is required when alcohol is served at your event. An application must be submitted to Security at least one week prior to the event (https://tinyurl.com/Alcohol-on-campus) and approval notification must be forwarded to iomrc@uwa.edu.au
7.Users are responsible for making their own arrangements for the event e.g. greeting attendees, set up, catering supplies and equipment, removing rubbish and recyclables, photocopying and directions to the venue for attendees. Administration assistance from IOMRC is not available.
8.No food or drinks are to be consumed in the Auditorium- with the exception of water.
9.Events held out of hours require an override of building entry doors. Requests for door override with extended times must be sent one week prior to the event to iomrc@uwa.edu.au
10.Users are asked to be mindful of noise levels at IOMRC- it is a research facility with staff frequently working after hours. Noise must be kept to a minimum at all times to restrict it carrying throughout the building. Playing of music at events is not appropriate.
11.To comply with HSE requirements, a list of attendees MUST be provided or emailed to iomrc@uwa.edu.au prior tothe event or attendees need to be willing to follow sign-in protocol.
12.Exclusive use of the Interactive Space cannot be guaranteed as this is a shared space for all IOMRC staff andresearchers.
13.The IOMRC Building has a Five-Star Green Rating. Please remember to turn off air-conditioning, all equipment, and lights when you have finished using the room.
14.Decoration of the courtyard needs to be appropriate and sensitive to the objectives of the research and purpose of the building. i.e. no balloons or plastic bunting (environmental/ocean litter).
