  • If your child does not attend OSD, the summr camp team will reach out to schedule a time for a 30 minute zoom or in person session to meet our summer camp team, as well as discuss potential strategies and supports that may be needed for a successful experience at camp.

    This is required to ensure accomodations that may be needed can be met.  The initial registration will hold a spot for your student, but the final approval will come after this meeting.

                                      Driver Ed (Ages 15.5-21) (Driver Permit only) June 2nd-6th and June 9th-12th Cost of program will be paid to Capabilities. $1,000 for full teen classroom and 8 hours of behind the wheel training $520 for Abbreviated Adult Classroom, plus 4 hours of Behind the Wheel training Will pay at registration. If connected with OOD (Ohioans with Disabilities,) please check in with your counselor to see if there is support from OOD for payment if needed. Students must have their permit!

                                      STEM Camp (Entering 6th-12th Grade)June 2-June 6th Campers will have the chance to be engaged in hands-on learning experiments. STEM stands for science, technology, engineering, and math. This camp will explore water days, color days, energy/construction days, and more! There will be so much fun and learning to be part of this.

                                      Lego Camp (Entering 1st-5th Grade)June 9th-June 13th Who would resist playing with Lego? Everyone loves LEGO! offers the chance to learn basic robotic building and coding skills, along with engaging mental challenges. Imagine spending 6 hours each day for a week immersed in LEGO robotics! At the end of the week, there will be a final championship competition to showcase your skills!

                                      ANIME Camp (Entering 6th-12th Grade)June 9th to June 13th Campers will enjoy reading and watching anime. Participants will explore the Asian influences and culture that shape anime, watch films and shows, read and discuss anime literature, and create their own anime-inspired art. We will also spend time learning techniques for making our own anime costumes. Don’t miss out on this creative and immersive experience!

This camp will be open to 3rd grade to 8th grade, allowing students with diverse levels of language to develop literacy and social and emotional learning competencies.

                                      The Ohio State School for the Blind (“OSSB”) and the Ohio School for the Deaf (“OSD”) are committed to providing the highest level of educational and recreational experiences for all students attending our 2025 ODBES Summer Camps.                                       1. I agree to pay attention and actively participate in camp activities.

                                      2. I understand that there is no cell phone or text phone use during camp activities. Staff may ask students to leave in their book bag, locker, or dorm until camp is over, if needed.

                                      3. I understand that my parent will be contacted to pick me up if my behavior becomes disruptive.

                                      4. Illegal drugs, alcohol, theft, bullying (directly or through social media) or sexual behavior is not allowed at OSSB/OSD.

                                      5. I will cooperate with camp staff.

                                      6. I will wear clothing appropriate for camp at all times. Clothing with words or pictures that are related to drugs/drug use, tobacco, alcohol/alcoholic beverages, sexual references violence or bigotry are not permitted. Any attire or statement that may cause a hostile, intimidating, degrading, offensive, harassing or discriminatory environment is prohibited.
