2025 USATF New York Awards Banquet Nomination Form
This year we will be honoring our student-athletes for their achievements off the track. Please review the information below and submit your nominations by the deadline, Sunday, February 16th at midnight. The committee will announce award winners on Monday, March 3rd. All awardees will be honored at our Annual Awards Banquet on Sunday, March 30th at the Sonesta Resort, White Plains, NY. We ask clubs to limit submission to one boy and one girl for each category.
Award Catagories
Sportsmanship Award
Candidates for the USATF New York Sportsmanship Award must embody the pillars of dedication, resilience, discipline, and benevolence amongst themselves and most importantly their teammates and opponents. This athlete should furthermore appreciate and display grace and respect while competing at a fair standard within Track & Field and/or Cross-Country.
Good Samaritan Award
Candidates for the USATF New York Good Samaritan Award must display selfless compassion for their community with consistent acts of service towards others in need, especially strangers, without being required to do so. This altruistic individual displays empathy and awareness for the betterment of mankind and exhibits unwavering hope for a brighter future.
Academic Scholar Recipient
Candidates for the USATF New York Academic Scholar Award must uphold a minimum grade point average of 3.8 within the course of the previous and current academic years of study. This studious individual is notable and disciplined in balancing the daily academic and athletic demands that are required of a high achieving student-athlete.
Breakthrough Performer
Candidates for the USATF New York Breakthrough Performer must display a significant improvement and contribution to competition within the most paramount season of Track & Field and/or Cross-Country. This athlete's undeniable performances within the season(s) demanded an unprecedented amount of attention that was unforeseen and greatly increased attention to the sport.
Leadership Award
Candidates for the USATF New York Leadership Award should demonstrate the ability to lead during difficult times or to cultivate positive change by their actions within their communities. Candidates should have visions for a better tomorrow and lead by example.
