  • The Outstanding Foundations Student Award recognizes an art major currently enrolled in Foundations-level courses within the Department of Art and Design. To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:

    1. If non-transfer student - Successfully complete at least two MTSU Foundations courses with a minimum grade of B.

    2. If transfer student - Successfully complete at least three Foundations courses (one must be from MTSU) with a minimum grade of B.

    3. Be currently enrolled in a Foundations-level course: ART 1610, ART 1620, ART 1630, ART 1640, or ART 1650.

    4. Be a declared art major in one of the following programs:

    • BFA in Studio Art
    • BFA in Graphic Design
    • BA/BS in Visual Arts
    • BS in Art Education
    • BA/BS in Art History

    5. If selected, you will be asked for documentation to support the data you provide. Likewise, all correspondence and award agreements will be generated from the personal information provided below. 

    6. Submit PDF portfolio of 10 works with title, media, dimensions, date, and course. This can be created in Powerpoint or Google slides and then exported as a PDF. Example
