Choose Cumberland Relocations Package Program Application

Thank you for your interest in the Choose Cumberland Relocation Package Program. This is a talent attraction program for remote workers, those relocating to Cumberland for a new job they have been offered and accepted, or those already employed locally who live outside of Allegany County.

This pilot program has been created to increase economic opportunity, grow our talented workforce,and improve our housing within the City of Cumberland. It is best suited for those who are seeking life in a remote small city, offering a high-quality lifestyle, in a charming historic community, close to outdoor recreational amenities, in the mountains of Western Maryland.

Before you fill out the application, please make sure you have read the program guidelines. It is strongly recommeded that you vist Cumberland, Maryland prior to submitting your application. To be eligible you must reside outside of Allegany County, Maryland.

If selected, awardees are required to purchase a home within six months of being selected.

If you have been convicted of a crime, other than a moving violation which is not punishable by incarceration, as to each conviction, state: (i) the crime you were convicted of, (ii) the court where the case was filed, and (iii) the case number. If there are any facts you would like the City to consider as to any conviction, you should include that explanation. As used herein, "conviction" means conviction of a crime, grant of probation before judgement, and any disposition other than dismissal or acquittal. The City of Cumberland will perform a through background investigation prior to any grant awards.*
