Host a Community Cleanup Event

Participate in NYC Big Spring Clean by hosting a community cleanup event this spring!
Big Spring Clean is a citywide initiative to create a cleaner and more sustainable city for all New Yorkers.

Sanitation Foundation is inviting New Yorkers to step up and make a difference in their communities. Register your group's neighborhood cleanup event to be part of NYC Big Spring Clean and join our network of Community Stewards caring for their corner of the city.

Members of our Community Stewards network receive:
- Digital support and resources on how to host a safe and impactful cleanup
- Big Spring Clean promotional materials to use in all of your outreach channels
- Participant acknowledgment and event promotion through the Sanitation Foundation’s website social channels, and city partners
- Access to our Volunteer Hub with tools to manage volunteer registration and check-in
Please note all Big Spring Clean events should:
- Take place this spring during April or May of 2026
- Be free and open to the public
