    Books for Reading Challenge:


    Kids (Ages 6–11): “Carter Reads the Newspaper” by Deborah Hopkinson
    A story about Carter G. Woodson, the father of Black History Month.

    Teens (Ages 12–18): Stamped (For Kids): Racism, Antiracism, and You Paperback
    Will help teens reflect on historical and modern challenges while empowering them to make positive changes.

     

    How to Participate:

    1. Pick up your copy of the assigned book and a packet in the church lobby after service on February 2.
    2. Read the book
    3. Write a one-page summary of the book sharing two to three things you learned, how it inspired you and why it’s important to the history of America.
    4. Prizes will be given for the completion of the assignment.
