INQUIRY: Private Retreats
  • Private Retreats

As you begin to share some details about what you are seeking in your stay with us, we want to provide you with some information which you may find to be important. First, please know that our campus is rather large, so depending upon where you stay, and what you wish to do, there can be a good amount of walking required. Also, in a desire to be respectful of those retreatants and sisters in the community with allergies, we are not typically able to allow pets during your visit. We hope this will not be an inconvenience for you. For those with mobility concerns, St. Cecilia's does have an elevator, as well as a handicap-friendly room. The Just Bee Hermitage is a single-level handicap-friendly cottage. Typically, private retreatants will stay in either St. Cecilia's or Just Bee Hermitage. If anything would be different during the time you seek to stay, we will discuss this with you. We ask all guests to use their best judgment if they are experiencing COVID-like symptoms, to please be tested and/or refrain from coming on retreat out of respect for other retreatants and staff. While masks are not required, we will have them on hand for anyone who wishes to wear one. PLEASE, if you are unsure, or have any questions about the accommodations or our campus that you would like answered before completing the form below, call us at 913.360.6173 or email sophia@mountosb.org.

  • St. Cecilia's

St. Cecilia's was the original home our Benedictine Sisters purchased to establish a school for girls. Through the years, the building has been modified and added onto. Attached to the monastery, St. Cecilia's affords close and easy access to the chapel for prayer and a short walk to the monastery dining room. St. Cecilia's is available for overnight retreats Monday evenings through 1:00 pm Sunday.
