    Pre-Demolition, Pre-Renovation Hazardous Materials Reporting

  • The City of Vancouver has implemented a process to ensure that home owners / property developers take appropriate precautions to eliminate the risk hazardous materials may pose to workers, the public or the environment.

The City requires that property owners submit a declaration requiring them to engage a qualified person to conduct an pre-renovation / pre-demolition hazardous materials inspection as part of the building development process in home constructed prior to 1990.

Once the building assessment is complete, the building owner is responsible to engage a licenced hazardous materials contractor to remove the materials identified in the report.  Upon the completion of the removal, a qualified person is required to conduct a final clearance inspection, compile and review all project related documentation.   The qualifed person then prepares a final clearance report which is presented to the City of Vancouver prior to the release of the demolition permit.

We have been providing services as a qualified person in the City of Vancouver since the inception of the program.
