  • Welcome

    Thank you for choosing YYL CPA P.C. (YYLCPA) to prepare your tax return. We sincerely appreciate your trust in us and are committed to delivering exceptional service to ensure your complete satisfaction.

  • Scope of Services

    This Engagement Letter confirms the arrangements for our tax return preparation services. We will prepare your business’s federal income tax return, as well as any mutually agreed upon state and local income tax returns for the year 2024, in compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations. Your returns will be prepared exclusively based on the information you provide.

    • Preparing and filing the business tax return based on the information provided.
    • Advising on tax compliance matters, including potential deductions, credits, and strategies.
    • E-filing the business tax return.

    This engagement does not include:

    • Representation in tax audits, examinations, or litigation.
    • Bookkeeping or financial statement preparation.
    • Preparation of tax returns for any other entities or individuals unless specified.
    • Responding to IRS or state tax notices unrelated to errors or omissions on our part.

    If additional services are required, a separate agreement will be executed.

  • Corporate Transparency Act/Beneficial Ownership Reporting

  • Assisting with compliance under the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA) and Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) reporting requirements is not included in the scope of this engagement. You are solely responsible for ensuring compliance with the CTA, including the collection and reporting of ownership information. We assume no liability for any failure to comply with these requirements. For additional information, please visit fincen.gov/boi and consult legal counsel if necessary.

  • Your Responsibilities

  • To ensure accurate and timely preparation of your tax returns, you agree to:

    • Provide complete, accurate, and timely information, including supporting documentation (e.g., income records, expenses, asset purchases, and payroll details
    • Respond promptly to our inquiries to avoid delays in filing.
    • Retain all records used to prepare your tax returns for at least five years.

    We will not independently verify the accuracy of your information, though we may request clarification or supporting documentation.

  • Fees and Payment Terms

  • Our fees for tax preparation services are based on the complexity of your tax returns, the time required, the scope of work involved, the value we provide, and your timely response to our email or phone communications.

    • New Clients: The estimated fee will be based on an evaluation of the prior year's tax return,reflecting any changes in workload or current return complexity.
    • Returning Clients: The service fee will be adjusted based on the previous year’s preparation fee, reflecting any changes in workload or return complexity.

    If additional work or unforeseen complexities arise, we will promptly notify you and provide an updated fee estimate.

  • Payment Terms:

  • Payment is due upon the completion of your tax return unless alternative arrangements are made in writing. Tax preparation fees will be collected via ACH authorization. An ACH authorization form will be provided along with the e-file authorization forms. ACH collection will begin once your tax return has been e-filed.

  • Confidentiality and Data Security

  • We maintain strict confidentiality of your financial information in accordance with professional standards and applicable laws. All information you provide is securely safeguarded. Your information will not be disclosed without your explicit permission, except as required by a government agency through due process of law.

  • Limitations of Liability

  • While we strive for the highest level of accuracy, we cannot guarantee specific outcomes, such as audit avoidance or particular tax savings. Any penalties, interest, or additional taxes assessed due to errors or omissions in the information you provide will remain your responsibility.

  • Miscellaneous

    • Paperless Policy: YYL CPA is a paperless firm that requests electronic copies of your documents. We provide 24/7 access to your tax return through a secure client portal.
    • Hard copies are available upon request for a $50 fee. Electronic copies are free of charge.
    • Uncompleted Returns: If you choose not to have YYL CPA finalize your return, you are responsible for paying for time and expenses incurred up to the notification date. Payment must be made within 10 days of receiving the invoice. Original documents will be returned, and notes or a draft copy of the return will be provided after payment is received.
    • Email Communication: We may communicate with you via email; however, we cannot guarantee secure delivery or that emails will be read only by the intended recipient. We disclaim liability for intercepted or unintentionally disclosed emails and are not responsible for any resulting loss or damage.
    • Dispute Resolution: If disputes arise, YYL CPA may use Nassau County’s Dispute Resolution Program, which provides a neutral third party to assist in resolving the issue. Damages will be limited to the total contract amount. This agreement is governed by the laws of New York, specifically Nassau County and the city of Great Neck, except for small claims court matters.
  • Acknowledgment and Agreement

  • If the terms of this engagement are acceptable, please sign and return a copy of this letter to us. If we do not receive your signed acknowledgment but continue to provide services, the terms of this letter will remain in effect.
