Welcome to the Scruffy Paws Adoption Application! Thank you for your interest in adopting one of our cats or kittens. 🐾Your desire to provide a loving home means the world to us and to the animals in our care.

Please note: Submitting an application does not schedule a meet & greet. Our team will review your application and veterinary records, and if we’d like to move forward, we’ll contact you to arrange a visit. We do not process applications until we've received full medical records for all current and 1 prior pet as applicable.
We often receive 50+ applications for the same adorable kitten. Processing takes time, and, although we do our best, we cannot guarantee a response if your application is not selected.
Adoptions are not first-come, first-served. Our priority is always placing each cat in the environment that best meets their needs. For example, If you apply for a kitten under 6 months, priority will always be given to applicants adopting two kittens together or to those who already have an appropriate cat playmate at home.. We have this rule because young kittens learn and develop best with another playful cat. A buddy helps them burn energy, learn appropriate play, and build confidence in ways humans simply can’t replicate — and a dog is not a suitable replacement for this kind of kitten-to-kitten interaction. These guidelines help ensure our kittens grow into happy, well-adjusted adult cats.
Please read each cat’s bio carefully before applying. Some may have specific needs, such as going home with a sibling, living without other pets, or not being suited for young children.
Every application is appreciated, but no one is entitled to a cat. Our mission is to protect these animals—many of whom have already been let down—and to make sure they find the right home. We truly value your patience, kindness, and understanding as we work together to give these cats the safe and happy lives they deserve. 💜

The information I have provided on this application is true. I also recognize that any misrepresentation or omissions may result in the loss of privilege to adopt from Scruffy Paws Animal Rescue.
I understand that adopting a pet is a long-term commitment—often 10 to 20 years—that requires thoughtful consideration. I affirm that I have the financial means to care for this cat and am prepared to provide a loving, stable home and appropriate medical care for the duration of its life.
I understand that it may take days, weeks, or even longer for the cat to adjust to my home, routine, and family members. I am committed to giving the cat the time and patience he/she needs to settle in, and I will reach out to my veterinarian or Scruffy Paws Animal Rescue if I have any concerns or questions during the transition period.
I understand that Scruffy Paws Animal Rescue often receives multiple applications for the same cat—especially for kittens—and may choose to move forward with another applicant. I also understand that the rescue reserves the right to deny any application for any reason, and the reason for not selecting my application may not be disclosed. Due to the high volume of applications received, I acknowledge that not all applicants will receive a response.
I understand that unexpected circumstances may arise, and if I am ever unable to care for my adopted cat, I agree to contact Scruffy Paws Animal Rescue to discuss options for returning the cat or receiving assistance.
I have thoroughly read the description of each cat I am applying for and believe that my home and family meet the specific needs outlined. For example, if a cat requires being the only pet, I do not have other animals. If a cat requires a companion kitten, I either already have a kitten or am prepared to adopt two kittens together.
I understand that the adoption team is a small group of volunteers with families and jobs, and they receive 15-20 applications per day. I acknowledge that this can cause delays in processing applications and that submitting multiple applications is unnecessary.
