    READ CAREFULLY:
    1. Completed Application
    2. Recommendation Form from a teacher and a person in your community
    3. ACT/SAT Scores
    4. A copy of your high school transcript. 
    5. Photo–Include a 4x6 photo head-shot type
      • Photo: The photo will not be used in the scholarship selection, used for publication of scholarship recipient’s, in print and online.
      • Please adhere to the photo guidelines below:
        • The photo must be professional in style and content.
        • The photo must be of high quality –In other words, no cell phone photos.
        • The photo should be a head-shot. There is no need for a full body photo.
        • The photo should not be a party-shot, i.e. taken at a party. No party or scantily-dad photos.
        • The photo should not be a "selfie".
        • The photo should not be a Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or other social media photo.
        • The photo should not be a glamour shot.
        • The photo should not have the word "proof" or any other wording on it.
        • The photo should not be Black and White or Sepia. Photos must be in full color.

    I understand and agree that if selected as a recipient of this scholarship, funds will be sent directly to the indicated college/university when documentation of enrollment is provided, and that my consent is given to the Orangeburg Alumnae Chapter to publicize my image/photograph taken at awards and honor programs.

  • Write an essay of 250 words on one of the topics below. Spelling and grammar will be considered in reviewing the essay.  Please review the Scholarship Essay Rubric before finalizing your essay.

    1. Identify a need in your community.  Describe how you will create a solution to the problem.
    2. Describe your most meaningful achievements and how they relate to your field of study and future goals.
