    A Guide to Managing your Chesapeake Beach Utility Billing Expenses
  • We want to acknowledge the concerns our residents have shared regarding the recently increased water and sewer rates. The Town understands the financial strain this can place on households, and we are committed to addressing these challenges with transparency and urgency.  
     
    As part of our commitment to finding solutions, the Town offers options for setting up payment arrangements to ease the burden of paying a utility bill in full. Below are steps to follow to set up a payment arrangement for your utility bills:  

    Review your bill: Prior to reaching out for a payment arrangement, it is important to review your utility bill thoroughly. Note the due date, total amount due, and any past-due balances. Understanding your current statement balance will help determine steps further. Prior to contacting the Town Hall, decide what payment plan works best for you.  

    • Short term payment plan: spread your bill over days or weeks; decide what amount will be your initial payment and what date it will be paid. 
    • Extended payment plan: spread your bill over weeks or months; decide what amount will be your initial payment, what date will be your first payment, and what dates will be your later payments.  

    Complete the form: Please complete the form below. Town staff will confirm all the information to create a payment plan that works for you. Once you have completed the form, written confirmation is required.  

    Agreement Document: Your agreement document will be emailed to you for review and signature. Once the document is approved, Town staff will review and edit your utility account to reflect that an agreement has been established. In the instance that you do not have an email address or a way to remotely receive and agree to the document, you can physically come into Town Hall to establish an agreement. Town Hall is open Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm.  

    Payments: Once a payment plan is agreed upon, payments can be made remotely via phone through a credit card payment or check.  

    • Phone Payment: To pay over the phone, please call Town Hall at  
      (410) 257-2230 
    • Check Payment: To pay via check, you can come into Town Hall with the check to make a direct payment, Town Hall is open Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm.  

    Mailing a check in to Town of Chesapeake Beach, 8200 Bayside Rd, Chesapeake Beach, MD 20732, P.O. Box 400. Please make sure to mail your payment at least three days prior to the due date to allow it to be processed through the postal service. Note that checks issued through your bank may need a longer period to arrive via mail.  
    Checks can also be dropped off into the payment box located on the entrance side of Town Hall. The drop box is checked daily, Mon-Fri.  
     
    Monitoring Account: Regularly monitoring your utility account is important to ensure that payments are being applied properly. To access your utility account, click HERE or go to https://chesapeakebeachmd.municipalonlinepayments.com/chesapeakebeachmd/utilities  
    If you do not already have an account, you can sign up for one through this online platform. For questions regarding your online utility billing, please contact,

    Once a payment arrangement is created, and completed with the agreed amounts and dates, no late fees will be added onto your utility account. Our commitment to transparency remains steadfast, and we will continue to keep you informed every step of the way.

  • When completing the date of installments and amounts, ensure that installment dates and amounts equal to the total amount of your current bill. Ex. $500 bill, spread between $250 dollar payments would need 2 installment dates till the full $500 bill is paid.
