Enrollment & Scheduling Information

Kumon of Decatur classes are held on Mondays and Thursdays from 3 pm to 7 pm. The duration is approximately 30 minutes per subject. Dual-enrolled students should plan to be at the center for approximately an hour.

Kumon of Decatur Enrollment Policies & Contract

I understand that Kumon is a year-round program and that I am committing to Kumon enrollment for a minimum of 6 months. Above-grade level study is the ultimate goal. If my student isn’t able to attend class before the 6 month period ends, I am still responsible for the monthly tuition charges and the policies herein this document as well as the separate 30-day email notification policy. 

I understand that homework grading, while optional, is a part of the Kumon methodology. If homework is not graded, it may affect my child’s progress and the instructor’s ability to lesson plan effectively. This only applies to paper worksheets, Kumon Connect includes homework grading. 

I understand that if I choose to discontinue, suspend or transfer my student's enrollment at Kumon of Decatur, I must provide written notice at least 30 days in advance. This notice must be given in the previous calendar month via email to decatur_ga@ikumon.com. I also acknowledge that, per Kumon corporate policy, tuition for the final month cannot be prorated.

I understand that class times are scheduled for 30 minutes per subject, but the duration is approximate and may vary depending on the lesson plan for that day and my student’s pace.

I understand that monthly tuition is calculated using a formula that averages classes over the 12-month calendar year. Tuition remains the same regardless of: center closings, holidays observed, personal sick days / vacations, and emergency weather closures. I agree not to request tuition refunds for any reason.  

I understand that for my student(s) to realize their full potential and meet estimated milestones, they must attend class regularly and complete assigned homework. As the parent/guardian, it is my responsibility to oversee homework study and ensure regular completion. The Center will assume the parent knows when the child is not completing their homework.

I understand that makeup classes are not offered for missed sessions. However, if I provide at least two business days' notice of an upcoming absence, I can request homework materials in advance for my student to complete while we are away.

If my student is unable to attend class, I must call or email the center before 6 PM on the missed class day to request that paper homework assignments be placed outside for pickup. This policy does not apply to Kumon Connect (tablet) students, as their work can be accessed virtually.

Tuition Policies & Fees

The monthly tuition fee is a fixed amount; it does not vary with: 

• The number of worksheets completed
• The number of class sessions a student attends
• The times and days the center is open (see annual center calendar for details) 
• If the child is enrolled on or after the 15th of the month, monthly tuition will be prorated to half the month per subject. Last month’s tuition will not be prorated per Kumon’s corporate policy.

Payment Authorization Agreement

I authorize Kumon - Decatur GA to debit my account as identified above. This authorization remains in effect until the stated terms are met or I provide written notice of termination, allowing at least 30 days for processing.

Any changes to payment amount, frequency, or bank account details require a new Payment Authorization submitted at least 15 days before the change takes effect. Kumon - Decatur GA may cancel this payment plan if funds are uncollectible, and I agree to pay a fee for each returned payment.

If my electronic debit is returned for insufficient or “held” funds, it may be re-presented electronically, and my account will be charged the payment amount plus a $40 reprocessing fee.

I confirm that I am authorized to execute this agreement and indemnify Kumon - Decatur GA, the check processor, and the bank from any claims related to authorized transactions.
