Volunteer Activities
I agree to participate in volunteer tasks, which may include sorting books, collecting or delivering bulk book donations, setting up and dismantling event booths or tables, staging books or other items for distribution, distributing items to event participants, and supporting other activities that help advance Barkley’s Bookshelf’s mission. I will perform these duties safely and responsibly.
Core Values and Conduct
I agree to uphold Barkley’s Bookshelf’s core values, treat staff, patrons, and fellow volunteers with respect, and represent Barkley’s Bookshelf positively while volunteering.
Medical Authorization and Emergencies
In the event of an illness or injury during my volunteer service, I authorize Barkley’s Bookshelf staff or coordinators to obtain necessary medical treatment or emergency care on my behalf. I agree to be fully responsible for any medical expenses incurred.
Employment and Wages
I understand that I am contributing as a volunteer rather than as an employee, agent, or contractor of Barkley’s Bookshelf and that I will not receive wages or employee benefits for my service.
Liability Waiver
To the fullest extent permitted by law, I agree not to hold Barkley’s Bookshelf or its directors, officers, employees, agents, coordinators, or volunteers responsible for claims arising from the ordinary risks of my service.
Photo and Media Release
I give Barkley’s Bookshelf permission to photograph or record volunteer activities and to use my image, likeness, and voice, without compensation, for educational, promotional, fundraising, archival, website, newsletter, or social media purposes.
Data and Digital Privacy
I consent to Barkley’s Bookshelf collecting and using the personal information requested in this application to manage volunteer schedules, communications, and safety.
Acknowledgment
I understand and have agreed to participate with Barkley's Bookshelf as a volunteer and have read and understand my responsibilities to be performed.
