Top Dogs Grass Volleyball Tournaments Presented by Tonic Adventures & Cambie Sports
PLAY ONE, SOME OR ALL TOURNAMENTS - some people think they have to play the whole series but EACH INDIVIDUAL TOURNAMENT is it's own tournament with SNACKS for everyone, MUSIC, CONTESTS, PRIZES. Top Dog status is a BONUS for those that play frequently for a chance to WIN additional cash, medals and more prizing. INFORMATION RE: COLLECTING POINTS TO BECOME A 2025 TOP DOG FOR YOUR LEVEL

2025 TOP DOGS GRASS SERIES POINTS COLLECTION!

Collect points the more you play to WIN $$$, Prizes & Bragging Rights to be Medalled the 2025 Grass Top Dogs. There will be a GOLD, SILVER and BRONZE Top Dog awarded at EACH level for 2025 PLUS winners at each tournament!

You collect points as an individual (not team) the more volleyball you play for additional prizes and the chance to be medalled the top dogs of 2025.

A Leaderboard will be posted within 2 weeks after every tournament to show each person’s season points. You get points just for playing and more depending on placement within your level.

You can collect points for:
- 8 Top Dog Tournaments hosted by Tonic Adventures in partnership with Cambie Sports (Sunday June 22nd, Sunday July 6th, Saturday July 19th, Sunday July 27th, Saturday August 9th, Sunday August 10th, Sunday August 17th, Saturday August 30th)
- 3 Cambie Sports Special Events: May Days on May 24th, Top Gun June 8th and Salmonfest July 1st

  Points will be allocated as follows for EVERY division (B, A, AA, AAA, Open) - keep in mind in big tournaments that there may be multiple pools in each DIVISION and so winning Top Pool of A OR winning 3rd level Pool of A will be assigned points accordingly.
  - 1st = 9 point, 2nd = 7 points, 3rd = 5 points, 4th = 3 points, 5th = 2 points, 6th = 1 point.
  - You get 0-1 bonus points if you play B, you get 1-4 bonus points if you play A, you get 4-7 bonus points if you play AA, you get 7-9 for AAA and you get 9-11 for OPEN - The range is to account for more than one pool per division. Bonus points are to motivate people to play in a higher division/pool and not sandbag, as well as it means your seeding and not only playoffs impact your points!

Each tournament is worth the same amount of points and you do not have to play every tournament - it simply gives you more chances to collect points.

After the 11 tournaments, the top 3 individuals with the most points of every division (B, A, AA, AAA, Open) get bragging rights of being medalled top dogs of 2025 - PLUS we give away $875 plus extra prizing and there is a big cheque presentation:
• 1st gets $100 cash + extra prize + GOLD MEDAL
• 2nd get $50 cash + extra prize + SILVER MEDAL
• 3rd gets $25 cash + extra prize + BRONZE MEDAL

To WIN a division you must have played the majority in that division and be that level (for example, some AAA/Open players at times play with friends in a tournament at an A level and that is fine for the odd tournament when the team is not stacked but that person cannot win the full year top dog honour at the lower level if they are a higher level player!

The extra prizes will include a special Top Dog long tee and other items being designed at the moment.

Prizing will be awarded after EACH tournament - and the TOP DOG money and prizing will be awarded at the August 30th tournament. Food trucks, misters, water guns, contests, big numbers are all being planned for the August 30th event. The last couple of years - the final tournament influenced who the winners were and the race was tight which made it so much more fun!

For ties they will be determined by: (1) who played the greater number at a higher level if they are on the cusp between levels; (2) Who played a greater number of events.

What Level Are You Registering Your Team In?

B - basic understanding of the game and rules and some developed skills - technique and getting the ball to go where you want needs alot of work!

A - solid knowledge of the game and rules - you mostly play recreationally, were not trained and your play is somewhat inconsistent!

A+ - solid knowledge of the game and rules - you play regularly in tournaments and your play is fairly consistent - but you aren't a powerhouse or digging machine!

AA - solid knowledge of the game and rules - skill levels range from advanced to experienced (eg. often you played club ball and/or competitive vball in highschool (not gym class but on team) or can hold your own with those that did - you are magical

AAA - - superior knowledge of the game and rules - skill levels experienced (you likely played college or university vball or can hold your own with those that do - therefore you are a magical unicorn)

Open - you are regularly top pool and should be paid to play
