  • Collective Bargaining Overview:

Union contracts are vital for strengthening our union and enhancing member benefits. They result from our collective negotiations with our employer, reflecting our shared priorities and improving working conditions.

The bargaining process is collaborative, requiring compromise. While we may not achieve all our goals immediately, we can make meaningful progress over time.

Key areas of focus during negotiations include:
    1. Wages: Discussion of fair pay, bonuses, and certifications.
    2. Benefits: Medical coverage, retirement plans, and insurance options.
    3. Working Conditions: Work rules, productivity, and resolving workplace issues.
    4. Job Protections: Rights regarding hearings, layoffs, and discipline.
    5. Time Off: Policies for vacations, sick leave, and holidays.

Participating in collective bargaining not only benefits us but also strengthens our community and educational standards. A solid contract provides legal protections that empower us as advocates.

To prepare for negotiations, the HSA union board is distributing this contract proposal questionnaire for your input. It's crucial to prioritize the changes that matter most to us.
