Artists ‘Round Texas is excited to invite you to the 12th annual Paint & Photograph Rowlett 2025 Juried Competition! This highly anticipated event showcases the beauty and character of Rowlett through drawing, painting, and photography. The exhibition will be held at Rowlett Public Library, 3900 Main Street, Suite 200, Rowlett, TX 75088 from Saturday, May 24, 2025 (reception) to Saturday, July 26, 2025.
We welcome artists and photographers—both members and non-members—to participate in this celebration of Rowlett’s landscapes, charm, and community. A wide range of mediums is encouraged! Join us in capturing and sharing the essence of Rowlett through your artistic vision. We look forward to seeing your creativity in action!
How It Works
- Artists 16 years and older are invited to enter online.
- Register online and pay the fees. The entry fee for members is $35 and Non-Members is $50. To receive a member discount code contact A.R.T. at artistsroundtx@gmail.com. To become a member visit www.artistsroundtx.org
- After the registration deadline, all entrants will receive an email with a digital map of designated painting locations throughout Rowlett, along with a link to upload images of their finished entries.
- Participants will have two weeks to create their artwork at the designated locations. Each entrant may submit up to three completed artwork entries online for juried selection by the deadline.
- Following the curation process, entrants will be notified of their acceptance into the final competition. Accepted artwork entries must be delivered for the final round of judging.
- The competition will culminate in a special reception and awards ceremony, where winners will be honored for their outstanding work.
- All accepted artwork will be showcased in a two-month exhibition and sale at the Rowlett Public Library, providing artists with a wonderful opportunity for exposure and recognition.

Media Categories for Entries
- 2-Dimensional Art : Submissions may include works created using oil, acrylic, watercolor, colored pencil, mixed media, and other traditional mediums. All 2D artworks must originate on-site from preliminary sketches. Reference photographs may be used for completion.
- Photography : Entries in this category may include photographs captured with or without digital manipulation.
- Drawing (Black Media Only) : This category is limited to works created using black drawing media only, including pen & ink, charcoal, or medium-tip black marker.

Entry Guidelines
- All artwork entries must be created between April 27 - May 11, 2025
- Each entrant may submit up to three entries.
- Entry sizes must range from the smallest of 10”W x 10”H to the largest of 24”H x 30”W, which includes the frame.
- Entries must be framed and matted when appropriate.
- Gallery-wrapped canvases (1.5” sides) are acceptable unframed, provided the edges are painted and the piece is wired for hanging.
- All artwork must be ready to hang with a secure wire backing. Sawtooth hangers and other alternative methods will not be accepted. If an artwork is still drying, a "Still Wet" sign will be displayed during the exhibition.
- Artists may mix categories within their three entries.
- Failure to deliver artwork during the designated drop-off time will result in exclusion from the show.
- Failure to pick up artwork on time will result in a storage fee of $10 per day, beginning the day after the scheduled pick-up.
- All art must be for sale and priced no less than $50 for an entry and Artists handle their own sales. A.R.T. takes no commission on sales.
- A.R.T. reserves the right to refuse art not meeting requirements, or with content considered unsuitable. Entry fee payment does not guarantee acceptance into the 2025 Paint & Photograph Rowlett Juried Show and the Artists Round Texas does not provide a refund for entry fees.
Artist Agreement & Waiver of Liability
Originality: In consideration of the opportunity to display my work to the public, and other good and valuable consideration, the adequacy and sufficiency of which is hereby acknowledged, I, the registered artist, certify that the art that I am submitting is my original art and that I am the author and creator of such art. I acknowledge that Artists ‘Round Texas (A.R.T.) reserves the right to accept or deny any submission with or without cause.
Promotion and Publicity: I grant A.R.T. permission to publish in all media my name, artwork, and location for use in promotion through print media, television, and the internet. I further allow A.R.T. to release such information to other persons and entities. My name will be attributed to my pieces that are shown by A.R.T. or other persons or entities.
Responsibility: I understand that A.R.T. and the City of Rowlett, TX do not assume responsibility for loss or damage to my artwork(s) or the loss or damage to frames or glass, no matter how sustained. I understand that reasonable safety and care will be taken to ensure protection of my work. I also understand that A.R.T. strongly recommends that I carry my own personal property insurance.
Artwork remains in the gallery until the end of the exhibit: I understand that if my artwork is accepted for the show that the work may not be removed from the exhibition until the pick up date described in the Call for Art. It is my responsibility to notify A.R.T. in writing, phone, or by email of a third-party pick-up of artwork at the conclusion of the exhibition. Artwork accepted by the judge, if sold prior to the exhibit, must be placed in the show. Replacement pieces are not accepted.
Sales of Artwork: I am responsible for all sales transactions and the collection and filing of applicable sales tax.
I acknowledge that I have read and understand all terms contained in the description for this Call for Art and the Artist Agreement, and agree to be bound by the terms and stated expectations.
Waiver of Liability: Once I submit this form electronically, I (the artist), my heirs, successors, and assigns, shall indemnify and hold A.R.T. and appointed officers, volunteers, employees harmless from any and all claims, costs and liabilities for any artwork damage, personal injury, death, or other property damage which is the result of handling and displaying the artwork at the Rowlett Public Library. Our partners’ employees or contractors are likewise held harmless from any and all claims from the artist, heirs, successors or assigns from any artwork damage, personal injury, death, or other property damage, and related costs and liabilities, which is the result of handling and displaying the artwork.
