TTRPG Storytelling
The course will cover narrative design, group management, important skills and mindsets of storytellers, combat challenges, roleplaying, group formation and more.
This workshop is a crash course in leading a TTRPG. If you’re interested in DMing Dungeons and Dragons, GMing a system you’ve developed, or Storytelling in Guild Chronicles, this is your chance to get some real expertise.
Creative Writing
In this workshop, learners will collaboratively create a work of fiction with their peers. Using Michael Low’s incredible writing curriculum, the group will create a shared setting and unique characters.
Much of the writing process is explored through play; participants create their fictional characters using tools and touchpoints from roleplaying games.
During weekly lessons, students collaboratively engage in live roleplay. Between sessions, students work on their own written fiction inspired by (and adding to) the live play events.
Digital Game Design
In this workshop, participants will work together to create a video game. Collaboratively, the group will decide on a concept, create graphics, create code to control the action, create sound and animation and more.
The applications used by the group will be determined by the level of expertise of those participating.
Analog Game Design
In this workshop, participants will work together to create a video game. Collaboratively, the group will decide on a concept, create graphics, create code to control the action, create sound and animation and more.
The applications used by the group will be determined by the level of expertise of those participating.
Conlang Lab
This course explores the fascinating world of constructed languages (“conlangs”), examining both fictional languages from iconic media—such as Dothraki, Klingon, and Sindarin—and real-world conlangs like Esperanto, Toki Pona, and Interlingua. Through linguistic analysis and creative application, participants will gain insight into phonetics, grammar, syntax, and cultural worldbuilding.
Students will have the opportunity to design their own conlang, either individually or as part of a collaborative project, developing a deeper understanding of language structure and linguistic creativity.
World Building Lab
This course guides students through the process of creating rich, believable worlds for fantasy and science fiction stories, games, or role-playing settings. Through the study of geography, culture, history, politics, and mythology, participants will learn how to design compelling settings that enhance storytelling and player immersion.
Students will explore key elements of worldbuilding, including ecosystem development, societal structures, and linguistic influences, while crafting their own unique worlds.
