• Champaign County Extension Education Foundation Scholarships

  • The Champaign County Extension Education Foundation is a not-for-profit corporation established in 1983 to promote the educational objectives of the University of Illinois Extension, Champaign County. To enhance our educational goals, scholarships are offered to assist individuals in pursuing and achieving their own educational objectives. We believe education enriches not only the individual quality of life, but also enhances the quality of life within our communities.

    Terms
    Applicants receiving the scholarship must provide proof of enrollment. If an applicant does not provide proof of enrollment, they will forfeit the scholarship. Payments will be made directly to the educational institution where the applicant is enrolled. Recipients are not restricted from pursuing and accepting other forms of financial aid and/or assistantship.

  • For the 2026-27 academic year, the Champaign County Extension Education Foundation will be offering:

    • One or more $1,000 scholarships to individuals who have been Champaign County 4-H members for 3 or more years
    • One or more $1,000 scholarships to graduating High Seniors who are residents of Champaign County
    • One or more $1,000 scholarships to adult learners who are Champaign County residents and have had a minimum of a 2-year break in formal education

     

    General Eligiblity:

    1. Applicant must be a Champaign County, Illinois resident.
    2. Applicant must be enrolled or planning to enroll in formal education at an accredited institution.
    3. Applicant must maintain progress towards educational objective and must not be on academic probation. 

    Selection Criteria:

    1. Statement of your educational and career goals
    2. Two letters of recommendation from non-family members (see specific requirements under the recommendation section of this application)
    3. Statement of service activities
    4. Statement of involvement in 4-H and/or any self/family involvement in Extension programming
    5. Statement of financial need
    6. Copy of most recent academic record/transcript (waived for adult learners)

     

    Application Deadline is End of Day on April 15, 2026, no late applications will be accepted.

  • Each applicant is required to obtain TWO letters of recommendation from non-family members. If you are applying for the 4-H member scholarship, one of your recommendations must be from a 4-H staff person or volunteer.

    By inputing your recommender's email address into the field below, they will automatically receive an email to complete their endorsement once you submit your application. Applicants are encouraged to give notice to and follow up with their recommenders to ensure completion. 

    In the recommendation, the endorser should include their name, title, the applicant's name and a brief statement of their endorsement of the applicant as a recipient of scholarship funding.

    It is FULLY the responsibility of the applicant to ensure the emails inputed are correct, and their recommendations are completed by the deadline.
