  • Welcome to Mile Hi Church, affiliated with Centers for Spiritual Living, a church where the arts resonate. Your music and consciousness lift this beloved community and we are deeply grateful that you will be visiting us soon!

    • You will coordinate music selections with Laura to support the service and message of the day, and also to promote your product sales.

    • After Mile Hi ministers communicate their message titles and essence, we will contact you, and begin the process of selecting music.

    • You will be asked to share 2 to 3 musical selections within the service (Sunday services at 8 and 10 a.m.).

    • The Mile Hi Band, comprised of professional working musicians with spiritual sensitivity, is typically configured with 4-pieces: Piano, Keyboards, Bass, and Drums. In some cases, we augment or substitute with guitar and saxophone. Also, we have staff soloists who can be asked to support with background vocals.

    • Please send Laura mp3 recordings of songs for consideration. We appreciate receiving multiple song selections. Please send us charts by e-mail as well. All music will be finalized 4 weeks from your appearance(s), in order to meet in-house timelines.

    • We need all of your materials (MP3 and PDF) in our hands at least 4 weeks in advance of rehearsal, or Mile Hi Church reserves the right to cancel the performance.

    • We need a high-resolution photo (at least 2 MB).

  • •    Mile Hi Church uses the church software Planning Center Online (PCO) to book all aspects of services, including participants. After a verbal invitation from the Music Ministry, you will be sent a written invitation through PCO.

    •    If you haven’t yet been booked through PCO, you will be asked to create a password for entry; and then you will be able to view the ongoing progress/order of service you are participating in.

    You must hit the “Accept” button in order to be officially booked for services at Mile Hi Church.

    • Mile Hi Church typically prepares an honorarium for your singing engagement(s), and this check will be given to you at the rehearsal. 
    • Mile Hi Church asks for your current mailing address, birthdate and Social Security number in order to activate check requests (If a corporation, please let us know this as well).
    • In addition, you are encouraged to sell your CDs after services Sunday in the lobby of the sanctuary. We wil provide a vounteer to support you.

    • We want you to have as much income from product sales as possible. If you will collect the money and provide your own credit card processing, you keep 100% of all sales. If you need us to provide credit card processing, and cash bags, we will retain 20% of gross sales.

  • We have allotted up to $1000 for your travel expenses and appreciate your willingness to save money whenever possible. We will ask you to make your plans and provide receipts for reimbursement.

    HOSPITALITY
    •    If you are willing to stay in a home, we have a few possibilities we can look into for you.

    •    We have a preferred relationship with a hotel that is about a mile from the church. You can book your stay there if your prefer and it fits the budget:

  • AIR SCHEDULES
    If you are flying in for a Sunday rehearsal, please arrive at least by noon on a Thursday (as we have an afternoon rehearsal) and do not plan a departure flight until after 5:30 p.m. on Sundays.

  • LOCAL TRANSPORTATION
    You can use money in your budget to rent a car if you choose, or you can use ride share. Please indicate which of these you plan to use to transport yourself when you are here:

  • GENERAL
    Music and Production coordinate in advance on all components of each service. Service orders are provided electronically in advance to all teams for reference and in hard copy at rehearsal to reflect any recent changes.

    REHEARSALS
    •    Rehearsal for Sunday Services are typically held on the Thursday prior. Tech talk and set up between 3:30 – 4:00 p.m. with at start time of 4:00 p.m. unless contracted otherwise.

    •    Musicians are scheduled from 4:00 – 6 :00 p.m. so we need to adhere to our scheduled start time in order to allow for appropriate rehearsal time

    During rehearsal our goals are:

    • Rehearse all music in the order of service — MHC Music Director will lead the music portion of the rehearsal.
    • Stage all segments as presented on Sunday
      • Broadcast and lighting teams need to see what you’ll actually be doing on Sunday morning to plan light and video cues.
      • This includes segments that don’t involve guest artists for which light and video cues need to be reviewed

    Rehearsals are designed to ensure that all people involved are prepared for each given service. Our desire is for everyone to be ‘Service Ready’ at the end of a rehearsal and to have the information they need to perform their job to the highest level possible.

    ATTIRE FOR SUNDAY’S
    •    Please note – because Mile Hi Church is producing an online broadcast during our Sunday Service everyone on stage needs to adhere to the following parameters.

    • No White or Pastel colors. These wash out and/or reflect too much light into the cameras during the broadcast and generally produce poor visual results.
      Do Wear – Solid, dark or primary colors that won’t ‘wash out’ under stage lights – Reds, Greens, Blues, Purples, Oranges, etc.
