Repertoire Recordings to be submitted in video format only

1. Anne Cawrse – Hildegard Fantasy No. 1 Ave Generosa for solo guitar.

2. J. S. Bach - Prelude from Suite, BWV 997

3. Up to 10 minutes of free choice pieces

 

Record, in video format only, the Competitor’s performance on guitar of the two specified music pieces for the Audition Round (above) plus up to 6 minutes of free choice pieces.

Recording instructions:
Please ensure that audition videos are recorded:

• with a single camera only
• with the player’s full body and full guitar in the frame of the camera shot
• with suitable audio and visual quality (good quality mobile phone video
  recordings are adequate)
• in a simple room (e.g. at home or in a practice room, NOT in a performance
  venue/church/hall) as separate videos for each specified piece
• including the full performance of the piece, unedited

Uploading Instructions

• Upload the separate video files for each of the audition pieces specified above as private/unlisted videos to YouTube.
• Please note: when naming the individual video files on Youtube please put the title of the video as: “[First Name] [Last Name] – Audition Round – Edwards/Bach/Free choice” (choose applicable label).
• In the description for the video, please add further details, such as the title of the piece(s) and composer(s).

Applicants who are 17 years old or younger

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

• The Adelaide International Classical Guitar Competition is open to competitors aged 35 years or younger on 14 September 2025 (born on or after 15 September 1989).
• Entry is open to individual persons only. Groups and ensembles are ineligible to enter.
• Competitors are required to meet the eligibility criteria specified in the Rules & Regulations
• If a competitor is under the age of 18 years their parent or guardian must sign the Application Form.
• Competitors under the age of 18 years must be accompanied by an adult at all times during their attendance at the Competition.
• Applications need to be completed and submitted, with full payment and all requested materials, by no later than Wednesday 2 April 2025. Applications received after this date will not be eligible or processed.
• Applications received that are not accompanied by the requested material will not be eligible or processed.
• Previous First Place Winners of the Adelaide International Classical Guitar Competition are ineligible to enter.
• Employees and Trust members of the Adelaide Festival Centre Trust and their immediate families are ineligible to enter.

DECLARATION

• I declare that I have read, understood and agree to  the Competition Rules and Guidelines
• I declare that all the information provided by me as part of the application process is complete and truthful.
• I agree to abide by The Rules and to honour all commitments and requirements of the Adelaide International Classical Guitar Competition as set out in the Guidelines, Rules and application process of which this Application Form is a part.
• I agree that the Judges’ decision is final and I will not challenge or contest the Competition results.
• I agree to indemnify the Adelaide Festival Centre and Adelaide Guitar Festival against any and all costs, expenses, losses, damages, claims, demands, or causes of action for damage to personal property and/ or personal injury which may arise out of my participation in the Competition, including transportation to and from the Competition.
