For Membership in Kiva Gathering Australia 2025 and Roots of the Earth Family Australia
1. Introduction
This Membership Agreement (hereinafter referred to as the “Agreement”) is entered into between:
The Organizers: Roots of the Earth in collaboration with the Munay Ayni Association, acting as facilitators and administrators of the Kiva Gathering & Vision Quest Australia 2025.
The Member: Any individual who registers for and attends the Kiva Gathering & Vision Quest Australia 2025 (hereinafter referred to as the “Event”), thereby becoming an official member of both the Kiva Gathering Australia and the Roots of the Earth Family Australia.
By registering for the Event, Members agree to the terms and conditions set forth herein, including adherence to the Heartland Use Guide, which outlines shared responsibilities and principles for co-creating a meaningful, conscious gathering. Membership includes the rights and responsibilities described in this Agreement and the Heartland Use Guide.
2. Membership Purpose and Values
The purpose of this Agreement is to:
Formalize Membership in the Kiva Gathering Australia and Roots of the Earth Family Australia. Foster alignment with shared values:
Care for Self: Maintain personal well-being, communicate needs and boundaries, and respect the event space and land.
Care for Each Other: Foster respectful, clear communication, punctuality, and collaboration within the community.
Care for Nature: Embrace sustainable practices, respect all living beings, and leave the space in better condition than it was found.
3. Membership Benefits and Responsibilities
3.1 Member Benefits
As an official Member, you are entitled to:
Full access to all ceremonies, workshops, teachings, and activities at Kiva Gathering Australia 2025.
Inclusion in the Roots of the Earth Family Australia for ongoing updates, invitations, and opportunities to participate in future gatherings and projects.
Connection to a network of individuals and elders committed to preserving indigenous wisdom and supporting environmental stewardship.
3.2 Member Responsibilities
By becoming a Member, you agree to:
Follow all guidelines outlined in this Agreement and the Heartland Use Guide.
Respect the sacredness of ceremonies, the guidance of elders, and the boundaries of the event space.
Actively contribute to a harmonious, respectful community experience.
4. The Heartland Use Guide
As the designated venue for Kiva Gathering Australia 2025, the Heartland space embodies principles of care and reciprocity. The following rules apply to all Members:
4.1 Purpose and Principles
Members must align with the Heartland values of care for self, each other, and nature:
Care for Self: Take responsibility for personal well-being, communicate needs, and familiarize yourself with the venue.
Care for Each Other: Respect boundaries, practice clear communication, and minimize noise to maintain harmony with the neighborhood.
Care for Nature: Follow sustainable practices, including waste reduction, and respect all living beings and land.
4.2 Facilities and Spaces
Facilities available to Members include:
2 compost toilets with handwashing stations.
Unfiltered spring drinking water.
Parking (carpooling encouraged).
A pool for Member use.
Clean-Up Checklist:
Leave no trace!
Waste Policy: Members must follow a “leave no trace” policy by removing all rubbish and properly sorting recycling. Composting is available behind the Heart Hall bathroom.
4.3 SECURITY PROTOCOL
To ensure a safe, respectful, and sacred space for all participants, we ask that everyone adhere to the following protocol:
4.3.1. No Sex*
We maintain a space of purity and respect. Any sexual activity during the event is strictly prohibited.
4.3.2. No Drugs or Alcohol
This event is a drug- and alcohol-free space, including the use of cannabis. We invite all participants to be fully present in the experience without the influence of substances.
4.3.3. Respect for the Sacred Space
Participants are expected to honor the energy and intentions of the ceremony. Disruptive behavior or failure to respect the guidelines will not be tolerated.
4.3.4. Right to Removal
If any participant is found breaking this protocol, we reserve the right to ask them to leave the ceremony immediately, in order to maintain the integrity and safety of the space for others.
4.3.5 Smoking
Smoking is only allowed in designated areas.
Your cooperation is essential in creating a safe and sacred environment for everyone. Thank you for your understanding and commitment to these guidelines.
4.4 Liability and Damages
Heartland is not liable for accidents, injuries, or lost belongings. Members are responsible for:
Reporting and repairing any damage caused to facilities.

5. Liability and Indemnity
Limitation of Liability: The Organizers and Heartland are not responsible for any injuries, accidents, or lost belongings during the Event.
Indemnification: Members agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Organizers and Heartland from any claims arising from their participation.
6. Membership Termination
Members may terminate their membership by submitting written notice to the Organizers.
The Organizers reserve the right to revoke membership for any violations of this Agreement or the Heartland Use Guide.
7. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
This Agreement is governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
Disputes will first be subject to mediation and, if unresolved, will proceed to arbitration or litigation in New South Wales.
8. Acknowledgment of Membership
By signing this Agreement, you acknowledge your understanding and acceptance of the terms, as well as your official status as a Member of Kiva Gathering Australia 2025 and the Roots of the Earth Family Australia.
