NatureScot (the governments nature agency) are responsible for tracking the health of our protected habitats. In their 2021 surveys of the Ben Nevis protected sites, they found that the majority of the natural features were in “unfavourable condition”, which means they are in a poor state of health and are struggling to thrive. 72% of the upland habitats and 100% of the woodland habitats surveyed were classed as being in “unfavourable condition.” How do these findings make you feel?* This field is required.
