2nd Annual Black Art Soiree

Saturday, May 24 2025 from 2 p.m - 8 p.m
The Black Night Market and Poetry After Dark presents the 2nd Annual Black Art Soiree, an elegant evening showcasing Black Art and Jazz culture.

Event Details:

The market will take place inside of Tacoma Armory, with A FULL BNM Marketplace, Jazz Performers, Food Trucks and more!

This is our Art Soiree, a jazz, poetry and art showcase.

We welcome ALL kinds of vendors offering; art, handmade items, book writers, artisan, food, drinks, craft makers, clothings, candles, jewelry, etc.

Each vendor spot includes a 10x10 space. Canopies are not required.
- Nonprofit Organizations $90 (must provide proof of 501(c)(3))
- Art // vendors selling products $130
- Cold food / prepackaged desserts : $130
- Hot Food Vendors $160
- Food Trucks: $180
  (Hot food vendors must obtain a Temporary Food Booth Permit from the health department.)
Please note: Tables, chairs, and other equipment are not provided. Vendors are responsible for bringing their own setup materials.

Electricity is limited and will be prioritized for:
- Hot food vendors
- Workshops
- "Press-on-the-go" booths
- Other special needs
Event Vendor details:

Setup Time: Vendors set up 2 hours before the event opens at 12 pm.
Check-in Deadline: Vendors must check in 15 minutes before the event begins.

Late arrivals will not be checked in and are'nt allowed to set up, so plan ahead!
More detailed load-in instructions and setup information will be sent via email to secured vendors on the MONDAY of the event week.

Note, If you're outdoors you are responsible for your own generators. Indoor vendors will be given access based on priority needs, listed on page 1.

Please read the following, this information is important as we obtain day permits for all of our vendors via the Tacoma Fire Department and Tacoma Tax & Business License.

This means, if you don't have the appropriate licenses there will be an additional $10 charge to your vendor fee.

House Rules
These rules apply to all vendors unless stated otherwise.
1. Vendor Space: Each vendor is provided a 10x10 space indoors. Canopies frames allowed, without tent coverings.
2. Load-In Location: Vendors may load in at the front of the armory
3. Setup Time: Vendors have 2 hours to set up, beginning at 12 p.m. Please plan ahead to ensure you arrive and are ready on time.
4. Check-In Deadline: All vendors must be checked in/ set up by 1:45 AM. Late arrivals or no-shows will not be refunded.
5. Creative Freedom: Feel free to set up your space creatively and make it uniquely yours!
6. Clean-Up Responsibility: Vendors are responsible for keeping their area clean and tidy throughout the event. This includes; picking up trash, cleaning up your spills and ensuring no damage is left behind.
7. Post-Event Clean-Up: Please leave your space as you found it by cleaning up after yourself at the end of the event.

Vendor Booths & Fees
Our vendor fees are NON- REFUNDABLE and NON - TRANSFERRABLE.

Vendor booth sizes are 10x10 square
- Non Profit Organizations (must show proof of 501C) --- $90
- Books, candles, crystals, art, clothing, products and cold repackaged foods etc. --- $130
- Hot Food Booth --- $160
- Food Trucks -- $180
ALL FOOD VENDORS (cold + HOT + TRUCKS) Must obtain a temporary food booth permit or must be a verified food business in Pierce County.

I understand and agree that it is my responsibility to secure my vendor spot as soon as possible. I acknowledge that if I do not pay the vendor fee, my spot will not be held/ guaranteed.
NO REFUND POLICY

PLEASE NOTE: The vendor fee is non refundable. Your payment goes directly to venue fees, that being said we do not send out refunds under any circumstances.

This means the following 1-6.

1. Set up time is always 2 hours before doors open and vendors must be checked in 15 minutes before we open.

Set up: 12 pm

Cut off time: 1:45 am

2. SHOW UP ON TIME! If you show up past 11:45 am you will not be allowed to set up and you will not get a refund.
3.PLEASE FOLLOW THE RULES! If you go against any of the rules, you will be asked to leave and you will not get a refund.
4. If you pull out of the event within 7 days before the market, you will not get a refund.
5. If you pull out of the event 1-2 days before the market you will not get a refund.
6. If we, the Black Night Market cancels the event under any circumstance we will send you a refund or transfer your date.

Once your payment is submitted, your spot as a vendor is secured unless otherwise specified. By securing your spot, you agree to commit to the event and comply with all outlined rules and policies.
