Medical - Determines whether RIT EMTs are needed for injuries. Nursing, Medical, Athletic Training, Physical Therapist, or EMT credentials required.
Registration - These volunteers are present for checking in skaters when they arrive at the rink. Help with directions and getting answers to coach, skater, parents' questions. Notifies scoring team and ice monitors of skaters who withdraw.
Ice Monitors - Has the list of skaters/events and makes sure the skaters are present for their events. Junior skaters make great assistants for this job.
Announcers - Announce skaters for their warm-ups and events using a script.
Hospitality - Helps with setting up and clearing at meal times for officials (lunch/dinner). May also be able to assist hospitality chair with pre-planning.
Silent Auction - Assists with setting up and working at the silent auction table.
Drivers - Assists with transporting judges from airport to hotel, from hotel to the competition and from competition to the hotel.
Awards - Leads the awards ceremonies
Runners/Ice monitor assistants/auction assistants - Collects results from accounting room, assists with award ceremonies, helps ice monitors as needed, helps at silent auction tables as needed.
Scoring Room - Assists the scoring officials with clerical tasks. This is a great spot for detail-oriented people. Great for someone who may want to be a USFS Scoring Official or learn more about it.
Set-up - Availability prior to start of competition (Thursday evening/Friday morning) to help with putting up signs, decorating, bringing in equipment.
Clean-up - This is not cleaning the arena, it is packing up and helping return equipment to storage.
