The Canadian Transplant Association is pleased and excited to offer a number of Bursary opportunities to our Transplant Community to join Team Canada in Dresden, Germany this summer. With gratitude to our sponsors, we will be able to help bring some additional transplant athletes to compete on the world stage and demonstrate the greatest gift there is, a second chance at life, where we can celebrate, compete and cherish our unique community with sport.
This year we will be offering a combination of Bursaries to Transplant Recipients, of all ages, and Living donors as well as at least one to include support for a parent or guardian to attend with a young recipient to participate at this year's Games in beautiful Dresden. Depending on the number of applications we receive and those with the most unique stories and greatest financial need, we hope to increase Canada's Transplant Team participation and our "small but mighty spirit" at theWorld Games later this year.
Bursaries will be offered in a variety of categories, and depending on the number of applications we receive between now and the closing on April 1, will determine how many may available in each category. If you are a parent or caregiver of a young athlete wishing to participate, please only complete one application for your athlete and include the request for funding based on your athlete's requirements as well as their need to travel with a parent or guardian. For all other transplant and living donor athletes please only complete one application per participant.
Please ensure the forms are complete with as much information and detail as possible and that you re-read, sign and ensure its completed carefully prior to submitting your application. All winners will be notified on or before the 30th of April 2025.
