• AfP Collection of Foreign Assistance Stop-Work Order Impacts

During the first day of the new Administration, President Trump issued an Executive Order (EO) pausing U.S. foreign development assistance for 90 days, including new obligations and disbursement of funds to foreign countries and implementing non-governmental organizations, international organizations, and contractors, pending reviews for “programmatic efficiency and consistency with United States foreign policy.” A few days later, the State Department ordered an immediate pause on current and new foreign aid spending, including a stop-work order for existing grants and contracts, pending a review within 85 days (90 days since the issuance of the original EO). The Alliance for Peacebuilding (AfP) is currently seeking examples of stop-work order impacts, on-the-ground and organizationally. Critically, AfP is seeking stories about how and why these programs make America safer, stronger, and more prosperous, to inform our behind-the-scenes advocacy. If you have any questions, please reach out to Nick Zuroski at nick@allianceforpeacebuilding.org
