The Miss Minnesota Northern Lights Little Sister Program is designed to introduce young ladies, ages 5 through 12, to the Miss Minnesota and Miss America program before they reach competition age. The mentorship program allows them to understand that Miss America is not just a dream, but something they can begin preparing for at a young age. It allows them to work closely with the Miss Minnesota and Miss Minnesota's Teen contestants who will serve as their role models and mentors through community service. 

    Miss Minnesota Northern Lights Little Sister Official Application   

To become a participant in the Northern Lights Little Sister Program, the following steps must be completed. 

• Fill out the Application Form
• Fill out the Health Form
• Photo Release Agreement
• Statement of Understanding
• Hold Harmless Agreement
• Completed forms with confirmed registration fee

The NEW & RETURNING Northern Light registration fee includes:

• 1 Ticket for Little Sister & 1 Guest to attend Miss Minnesota & Miss Minnesota's Teen Preliminary nights Wednesday, June 18, 2024 and Thursday, June 19, 2025
• 1 Ticket for Little Sister & 1 Guest to attend Miss Minnesota and Miss Minnesota's Teen Finals Friday, June 20, 2025
• Little Sister will be showcased with Miss MNT and Miss Minnesota during on-stage productions
• Little Sister Event-   Wednesday, June 18, 2025
• NEW (only) Little Sister Crown and Northern Lights Little Sister Sash
  • *returning Northern Lights will bring their current crown and sash

IMPORTANT: Returning Little Sister DO NOT need to send a copy of their birth certificate

 

Below you will select your registration tier. Local directors will confirm the Northern Lights that select local sponsored in the *NEW* or returning categories. Please only select this option if you are paired and connected with a local organization. 

          PHOTO/VIDEO RELEASE AGREEMENT       

I hereby grant to the Miss Minnesota Scholarship Organization and to its agents, the right to photograph/video my daughter and use the photo/video and or other digital reproduction of her or other reproduction of her physical likeness for publication processes, whether electronic, print, digital or electronic publishing via the Internet. 

 

I certify that I am the custodial parent and have the aforementioned rights to sign. 

                HEALTH INFORMATION FORM            

 

If Northern Light is required to take daily medication, parents will be responsible for providing and administering any and all health care needs. 

 

 

           STATEMENT OF UNDERSTANDING          

We will ensure that our daughter will conduct herself in a proper manner at all times. We understand that this is NOT a competition, but a mentoring and learning process conducted by the Miss Minnesota Scholarship Organization and agree to all decisions made by the Miss Minnesota Scholarship Organization Board of Directors relative to the Northern Lights Little Sister Program. 

Transportation, Housing & Meals

We (parents/guardians) further understand that we will furnish transportation, meals, and housing while participating in the Miss Minnesota Northern Lights Little Sister Program. All Northern Lights Little Sisters and their families are responsible for their own housing and meals during the Miss Minnesota's Teen and Miss Minnesota Competitions.

Who can be a Little Sister?

Any young lady who is at least 5 years of age and no older than 12 by the date of June 1, 2025, is eligible to enter.

Applications

It is the responsibility of the Little Sister's parents/guardians to make sure that applications and other paperwork are completed appropriately and in a timely manner. The registration fee may be paid by the supporting local organization, the Little Sister's family, family members, and/or friends. (No business sponsors of the local pageant)

Official Little Sister Crown

The Crown will be provided to each Little Sister during their first year with the program. Returning Northern Lights will bring their crown for subsequent years. The crown is not a toy and should be handled with care. It should not be worn except on official appearances as a Minnesota Northern Light. If the crown is broken, replacement crowns can be purchased for $50.

 Photos

Parents are required to upload one (1) COLOR headshot, preferably a high-resolution photo. Be sure your daughter's face is well-lit. Photos should be head and shoulders only and MUST be sent with an application.

When submitting your completed application- ALL application paperwork, photo, birth certificate, and fees paid in full must be uploaded online at the same time in order for the application to be accepted.

                       HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT                   

Acknowledge (by the witness of their signature below) her application to participate in The Miss Minnesota Northern Lights Sister Program on Wednesday, June 18, Thursday, June 19, and Friday, June 20, 2025, at Treasure Island Resort & Casino, Welch, MN, and other locations used for appearances of Miss Minnesota Northern Lights Little Sisters. As part of her participation in this event, it is the Miss Minnesota Northern Lights Little Sister's responsibility to confine and amends her performance to adapt to the constraints of the production requirements. The Miss Minnesota Northern Lights Little Sister hereby agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Miss Minnesota Scholarship Organization, the Competition Committee, and any other entities which might be construed as liable from and against any and all claims for personal injuries, death, damages, cost, and/or other expenses including reasonable attorney's fees arising from or in any way connected with the use of the premises, and Princess does hereby waive any right of recovery against The Miss Minnesota Scholarship Organization, the Competition Committee and any other entities which might be construed as being responsible for loss, damage, theft of equipment, stock-in-trade, personal property, etc. This agreement is subject to termination by the Miss Minnesota Scholarship Organization without advance notice or penalty at any time. This agreement is personal to the Little Sister and may not be transferred or assigned. It is understood that this agreement is for one year only. 

In witness whereof, this agreement has been executed as the date indicated below. 

Confirmation

BY ACKNOWLEDGING AND SIGNING BELOW, I AM DELIVERING AN ELECTRONIC SIGNATURE THAT WILL HAVE THE SAME EFFECT AS AN ORIGINAL MANUAL PAPER SIGNATURE. THE ELECTRONIC SIGNATURE WILL BE EQUALLY AS BINDING AS AN ORIGINAL MANUAL PAPER SIGNATURE.
